Dan Carcillo: reliable PIMs. |
mirtle James Mirtle Brian Burke's on @TSN1050Drive right now talking about how the Canucks were in talks to acquire Gretzky 23 years ago. mirtle James Mirtle Burke said the Oilers wanted three first-round picks, $18-million, Greg Adams and another player for just Gretzky. |
Bure gretzky > hull gretzky Posted via RS Mobile |
I would've done that trade. Shit, people are saying we should trade 4 first rounders for Weber. Gretzky's worth at least 8 then. |
I can see Gretzky being worth x number of 1st round picks and players A, B, and C, but how do they come up with the $18 million figure? :p |
^ pocklinton needed the money... |
yup, LA was selling out their tickets but they were also dirt cheap at the time. scalpers were making a fortune because everyone wanted to see #99 play. |
Oilers fan should be glad Pocklinton chose to keep the Oilers in Edmonton instead of Gretzky. It was one or the other. They won another cup without Gretzky in 1990 and now with two 1st overall picks... something to be happy for??? |

yep, and ironically, gretzky never won another cup after leaving the oilers. |
almost won once with the kings... |
