This guy was right about the Booth trade, the Hodgson trade and a couple other Canucks things ahead of guys like Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger.

Side-note: I find it hilarious that all the TSN guys are considered experts and insiders but no one gives a shit about what anyone on SportsNet (e.g. Kypreos) says.

Kypreos was right about lu though

I mentioned Kesler been traded when the season ended based on some of the rumors that were floating around.

Kesler seems like a guy who's very proud and has an ego and a player who pushes himself to the limits every game and puts in a 100% even if he's not 100% and I honestly can't see him playing under a coach who basically threw him under the bus but part of me thinks AV made those comments because there's something going on behind closed doors that we don't know about and I suspect Kesler might be possible trade bait. It''s going to be an interesting off season.

punkwax 06-01-2012 06:59 AM

Theres a strong chance AV used the media to motivate Kes. Kes does have a big ego and if he's getting criticized publicly, he'll do what it takes to prove people wrong.

Vansterdam 06-01-2012 07:02 AM

i bet depending on how kesler does this upcoming season he may be traded prob after the season ends

sekin67835 06-01-2012 07:20 AM

With his injury, it will probably take more than a season to recover.

fsy82 06-01-2012 08:38 AM

Kesler needs to get his shit together. Dude has an ego. Never passes it seems and gets so predictable. He always skates over the blue line and shoots..never looks to pass to his wingers.

AV/Gillis have a reputation for making dumbass comments about their players to the media. Remember Cody's issue with the bulging disc in his back and how they claimed he wasn't hurt THAT bad?

"Fans" of this team will chase star players who are under performing out of this town in a heartbeat. It happened to Naslund, it is happening to Luongo and it will happen to Kesler next.

I still can't believe AV got extended. He gets too much credit for what the team in front of him is capable of. When was the last time he actually out-coached somebody?

It's not that he doesn't want to pass, it's just that he can't pass. He's not a playmaker. He's a power forward. I've been saying before, if he has a centreman that can pass him the puck in stride he'll be a consistent scorer.

I am sure alain vingault said the same thing a while ago.... so i agree 100%. No buts and ifs, he is not passing....

Kesler isn't a power forward, and even if he was, that's no excuse for his lack of playmaking skills. Getzlaf is a power forward, and he's one of the premier passers in the league.

He was doing the same thing in 2010-11 and his shots went in. Nobody seemed to complain about his lack of passing then... The only thing that intrigues me about possibly moving Kesler this off season is that his NTC doesn't kick in til July 2012, my curiosity makes me wonder what a player of his potential can return in the trade market. But the fact that he's out of service right now probably kills any trade value unless there is a team out there that is really desperate to make a change and take a gamble.

I'm not sure Schenn plus 5th for Lu will get it done for MG. IF it happens, there'll be other moves on our back end to free things up a bit both roster and cap wise, makes for a very interesting off season for sure.

DanHibiki 06-01-2012 01:03 PM

so what will my leafs fan friend say now after so many years of talking shit about luongo

Maybe I'm over-evaluating but I think it would take more than that for Luongo.

Mike Oxbig 06-01-2012 06:09 PM

leafs fans on hfboards certainly dont mind this trade

trades cant be made during the finals. bettman doesnt want anything to take attention away from it. also they wont trade larsson for schnieder.

???

teams that are not playing right now are free to make trades...theres no prohibition during the playoffs/finals...in fact i think there was a minor one a week or 2 ago

dbaz 06-01-2012 06:26 PM

believe its more of an unwritten rule. as the only attention the nhl wants right now is on the cup finals. was shocked bos and wash even made a trade at this time. nba has a similar unwritten rule during the finals
