There's no chance it could have just ended up being a sore neck until NEARLY A THOUSAND POUNDS of the guys own teammates crushed him between Bert and the ice?

Glad to know in addition to all the armchair GMs and coaches, there are some armchair neurosurgeons running around, too. It's so helpful.

I think SkinnyPupp is focusing on the sucker punch itself, whereas you're looking at the damage inflicted.

While he has no control over the consequences, Bertuzzi can control whether he punches or not. Most of us can probably agree that sucker punches have no place in sports.

Edit: Ahh see, SkinnyPupp responded before I was able to post this up.

basically there won't be the effect if there wasn't the cause

The thing that stands out most for me is that I we could have won the cup that year.

Bert wasn't playing like a monster a year before when he had 97 points but he was still one of the best power forwards in the league. With him, I firmly believe we would have beat Calgary (who we took to 7) and maybe made it to the finals.

I feel bad that the whole incident happened but I have no sympathy for Steve Moore.

I was at that game. it was a roar, then dead silent. pretty much when the scrum cleared, everyone knew something wasn't right

^^THIS.

I agree, i dont have sympathy for steve moore. Who hasnt he tried to sue? Didnt his parents try to sue the canucks too?
8 years has basically past and he still not symptom free. I bet he'll become symptom free once he gets paid. Thats all i see him trying to do here, milking it for all
Its worth. He should be paid for wages lost and pain and suffering but the way he went about it and how hes milking makes me have no sympathy for the guy

punkwax 06-06-2012 03:52 PM

Steve Moore shouldn't have been anywhere near the ice at that point in the game anyway. I think it was Granato who was coaching at the time? He should be held responsible as well if you ask me.

Eastwood 06-06-2012 04:05 PM

Crawford should be held just as responsible as Bert. Crawford told all his players to go out and take Moore out of the game.

The argument is what was the cause--Bert's sucker punch or Moore's initial cheapshot to Nazzy
