lol well I don't think they would have even made the playoffs with Jack Johnson, their numbers with Carter and with Johnson in the lineup are not even close.

hotshot1 06-11-2012 07:39 PM

Watching them celebrate made me kinda sad... last year should have been our year. Oh well.

murd0c 06-11-2012 07:39 PM

hopefully this will now result with Paulina Gretzky posing naked with the cup:fullofwin:

PiuYi 06-11-2012 07:52 PM

regular season vancouver-boston game had way more playoff intensity than all 6 finals games combined...

Vansterdam 06-11-2012 07:52 PM

dam now we gotta wait till october for some hockey

*420th post!

nah 06-11-2012 07:54 PM

LA waited 44 years, we have a couple of years left to match them...

Renthal 06-11-2012 07:57 PM

another great video montage by CBC…

OGCStrike 06-11-2012 08:28 PM

tbh i thought the series between the Flyers and the Penguins was the highlight of the playoffs this year :awwyeah:

Hondaracer 06-11-2012 08:46 PM

meh, honestly watching the whole playoffs in LA its said that franchises that dont appreciate it continue to win it

game 7 Burrows goal in Van was crazier than any LA game, hell, in game 2 people were hesitating to stand going up 2-0.. :/

Nucks year was last year.

MR_BIGGS 06-11-2012 09:09 PM

It gets tougher watching other teams win the cup when the team you support hasn't even won one. So it starts again in October.

So what did people think of the officiating this playoffs? Rounds 1 and 2 were absolute gong-shows. For me, the issue is consistency. I'm not saying the refs fucked this game over (maybe they were a factor), but what gets on me is that fact that a penalty in game one of the regular season isn't a penalty in the playoffs. I'm all for letting them play, but let them play in the regular season too. Feels like a losing argument, if they called it like they did during the regular season, they will be factor, and if they let them play, they are being a factor. Not really sure how this gets addressed, except to have a team that has skill but get bang like the Kings did.

The Bernier call decided the game

i saw a sign in the crowd held by a guy with a baby. said something along the lines of "my daddy waited 44 years for a cup, i'm 1 for 1"
:fullofwin:

I watched the Bruins do it last year, the worst memory ever.

I hope in my lifetime I'll see a Canucks captain lift the cup...

Ch28 06-11-2012 09:27 PM

Can someone post up CBC's closing montage when they find it?

Tried Youtube but I couldn't find it there

SkinnyPupp 06-11-2012 09:42 PM

Willie the first player to get the cup :joy:

murd0c 06-11-2012 09:47 PM

Love it or hate it they were the best team by far in the playoffs this year and they deserved to win. All this means is they will have a bigger and better fan base and 10yrs from now we will hear of first class prospects talking about how they watched the kings win which made them want to play products.

Things could be worse it was nice seeing a different team win for once and there is always next year. White I'm excited about the offseason now is when it gets fun and thankfully no heartbreak this year

Love seeing LA win, powerful team. Gotta love hockey!

When Henrik lifts the Cup, i hope he does it like Gretzky did in 88 where he does it with the whole team around him
