russians practice those things day and night which make them one of the best pure talents out there (ie. kovalev, semin, bure, ovechkin) But north american players are more durable when it comes to hockey because they play more games.

jeedee 08-18-2011 01:26 PM

Uh..no. Practicing trick shots don't necessarily help shit, cause you can't use them in the game. Just look at Rob Schremp. He knows how to do all those trick shots, but couldn't produce anything in the NHL.

Are you trolling or just retarded? :fulloffuck:

shawn79 08-18-2011 01:26 PM

:troll:
russians dont practice trick shots but practice more skill like puck handling oppose to playing the game like north american, they play less games in europe
oh i know Rob Schremp, hes in the SEL now
jeedee always on my case

i pre-ordered a while ago from futureshop, only said i'll get goalie boost and not a steel case.

i'll probably return it though anyways, paying $20 from EA is better than $60 for steel case unless u are a tampa fan

The article was good until they ended with that line.

Roy, Brodeur, Hasek are the goalies who I consider the greatest.

If it makes you feel any better for some odd reason, even with the RFD and word of mouth madness tons of people never heard of this deal. I only lucked out because after avoiding RFD for a while I finally went on one day only to catch the last day of this deal and scored 4 pre orders for $39.99 each.

Next best bet for you, find a friend who works at EA which shouldn't be too hard.

it's worded poorly, but they meant he was a finalist for those trophies.

Drury announces retirement...

Quote:

FROM TSN

Former New York Rangers forward Chris Drury announced his retirement from the NHL on Friday after 12 seasons.

The Rangers bought out the final year of their captain's contract in June after four seasons with the Rangers.

Drury played in only 24 games last season because he broke his finger twice and also underwent knee surgery. He didn't score a goal until the final day of the season.

Drury was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in 1994 and began his NHL career after the franchise was relocated to Colorado. He won the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie in 1998-99 and won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in the 2000-01.

Drury had 255 goals and 615 points in 892 career games with the Colorado Avalance, Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres and Rangers.

He had some crappy seasons the last few years but I guess as no one offered him a contract it was time to hang up the skates

not sure if you will be able to buy it from them tho. As far as I know, they didn't sell NHL 11 in their store for quite some time.

murd0c 08-19-2011 08:12 AM

WOW thats hard to believe after how well he played for the Avs that no one wants him now. Signing for those big dollars with the Rangers sure fucked his career up.

MR_BIGGS 08-19-2011 08:17 AM

I'm surprised that NHL/Versus is not going to be broadcasting the rematch of the Stanley Cup Final.

So many NHL games on regular TV this season, coupled with NHL Centre Ice so I can watch all the Canucks games.

Sounds very similar to Naslund's exit from NYR, except Nazzy took the classier route of retiring prior to getting bought out and Drury took the monay.

Regarding rule changes, some of the things they discuss at these development camps are way out of left field, some are good ideas.

I think icing for teams on the PK is a great idea. Make the teams getting penalized think harder about discipline, get some more opportunities at goals (or great saves). Same as letting the goalies handle and take the puck wherever they want, but if they leave the crease they get hit like everyone else. They wear more gear than anybody, no reason why they can't take the abuse that everybody else has to. Don't want to get hit, stay in your crease! You suck at puckhandling, stay in the crease!

Recent rule revisions like making 2 line passes legal and tag up offsides have been great for the pace of the game, and even if it doesn't result in more goals scored, it results in a more entertaining game to watch. If all they wanted was just more goals scored, they could have easily made the nets 8x6 instead of 6x4... just sayin'
