None of the big names are playing so far.
No Burrows, Twins, Kesler, etc.
Even Luongo isn't playing.
Hurts to see the games, knowing we can kick these teams' asses with the regular line up. It's a process and the people in charge know what they're doing. The opposing coach from yesterday's game basically said he fielded a full line up. Different priority and needs, I guess.
MG might have told them coming in. Who knows? And their performance at our camp can increase the chance of them signing elsewhere, like BMo last season.
would of rather had nolan than duco. even though duco has been doing good i wouldnt want a player who called out the canucks and organization with his tweets during the playoffs. we didnt just need grit, we needed scoring on the 4th line.

that's true and bmo did do well and got another deal this year with the flames. i sure hope that's the case because it's a much more positive light on the situation hah.
Nolan was cut for the following reason as he stated in the pre game skate
Owen Nolan was playing great, drives hard to the net, knows where to be and have the hockey sense. He still has the hands to do it all as well. Unfortunately, age has caught up with him. The Canucks do not have the luxury of finding a replacement for a player that can play one game, and then miss practice/game day skate because he has to nurse some sorta bruise or injury. Simply put it, he might be there mentally, but physically he is not up to par.

The Canuck regulars who have yet to see any action in the pre-season each figure to play in two of Vancouver's final three exhibition games.
Nolan., the 39-year-old veteran looking to return to the NHL after spending last season in the Swiss League, returns to tonight's lineup after sitting out Saturday night's 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks with groin tightness.
Vigneault acknowledged that whether Nolan can keep his body healthy is a significant concern.
"In his case I'd have to say that right now that, you know, can the body hold up to the pace, can the body sustain it on a consistent basis," Vigneault said. "You have to be able to practise, you have to be able to play to maintain a high tempo. So that's part of our evaluation of him right now, can he maintain it and sustain it on a daily basis."
Nolan suggested too much is being made of him missing Friday's practice and Saturday's game with a sore groin.
"To me, it's not a big issue right now," Nolan said. "If you look around there are some younger guys with the same thing right now. It's always part of camp. I'm sure if you ask other teams, the biggest concern right now is the groins."
its a pro try out it means. nolan is trying out for all the NHL teams scout. not just canucks. if any team thinks nolan can help their team. he will get signed, just not with canucks.
I think he would have been great on the first or second PP unit and taking important faceoffs. But beyond that, I don't think he could have handled playing a full season in the NHL for the Nucks. Nucks are just too deep to have him play on the third line.
Plus, where would CoHo play?
But I am sure some other NHL team will try to pick him up.

I don't get that vibe whatsoever... I'm sure it's solely just to rest their main players, nothing more, nothing less.
They have enough players to fill out a few rosters of nobodies, im sure yea it's nice to have a few guys to fill spots here and there but did anyone actually think Nolan would make the team? From The beginning there was not a spot for him
Nucks are past the point of taking plumbers for the bottom 6, if you can't play every shift and be a versatile player there's no way the nucks are going to sign somone who is a specialty player to play the PP etc, that's a wasted spot on the bench imo Posted via RS Mobile
