From what I remember, he hasn't. He claimed he was still having back problems and that turned out to be true. AV had some harsh words for him saying that the doc's here said he was fine. People mistook this as CoHo bitching and whining/making excuses for his performance in pre-season. After this, CoHo has been careful not to say anything that might be used against him. AV never apologized publicly about it despite being 100% wrong.

I believe it's his entitlement attitude 2 seasons ago when asked about making the roster. I'm paraphrasing but he said something along the lines of "he's got nothing left to prove (in the minors)" so the only logical place is among the Canuck lineup.

Now, that's what we heard on the media but whether it was out of context... who knows.



I think the problem for CoHo is that in any team he's previously been, he's been a top 6 role guy and it still sort of looks that way today where his emphasis is offense production.

If however he accepts the lesser roles and start as a grinder/checker much like how Kesler and Burrows started as checkers before they were goal scorers, he may stand a better chance should he follow the same path.

It's hard for some of the young kids to accept this. Look at Bobby Ryan. He was in the minors for quite a few years before he was given a chance in the NHL. He was the second overall pick behind Crosby.

Sure Taveres, Hall, and Eberle were able to make the team right after the draft, but that is also an indication of how poorly thaose teams were/are doing.
Look at Detroit. How many young kids do they have on their team?

How many years did the twins play in Vancouver before they were able to step up their game? I bet a few years in the minors would definately have helped their progression to what they are today.

Hopefully CoHo will make the team this year, but even if he doesn't, another year to develope in the minors isn't going to hurt the club and he will definately benefit from it.

Who would Burke have taken if Waddel took one of the Sedins?
That draft year for first round was so weak besides the Sedins....
