Kesler related news again.. this time no photos :fullofwin:

Kesler practiced with #Canucks, still no time table for return; he's been fully cleared for contact. No Higgins, he'll play Thursday though.

Off the Stanchion

I haven't seen much of Weise but at least he would still drop the gloves. Remember when Marchand clotheslined Erhroff then threw a hipcheck on Daniel? Oreo was on the ice. Sure Ballard got to Marchand first but when McQuaid went after Erhroff (who was injured), Oreo did squat.

Even in the last preseason game, after Oreo hit RNH, it was Lapierre that had to stand up for him against Theo Peckham.

Weise has better hockey IQ and has more offensive upside while Oreo is the better skater. But what it comes down to is that I think Gillis and AV wanted someone who would stick up for their teammates. Oreo can be a legit NHLer but he needs to realize he has to do what it takes consistently to play in the big leagues.

Goalie Roberto Luongo said he was also approached by ESPN to do the shoot but declined.
"This body is for one set of eyes only," Luongo said.
Bieksa later joked about that being a good thing.
"I don't care how good technology is these days, there's a lot of hair on that body," he said of Luongo.
:heckno:
oh Bieksa..why u so awesome :fuckyea:

Isn't that for NHL Network?
Isn't NHL Center Ice the thing that allows you to watch all the games going on around the league? Just like NFL Sunday ticket?

wow, no one picking the nucks to win this year..i don't see how we were the heavy favourites last year, yet we are against the odds this year? our team hasn't changed much, and other teams don't seem to be THAT much better

tsn/ every sports analysis thinks ehrhoff was a major part of our defense puzzle to get over the top with his puck movment and shot. Also people are having doubts about malhotra wont be his old self but no one dares to say anything about it. Our 4th line got better thats for sure.

hoff was strictly a points guy for us. our team overall hasn't went down by much but also hasnt improved much either. losing torres, glass and hoff (prob more but i dont remember atm) isn't a big change. we replaced them with weise, sturm, and depending on whether or not coho stays in the lineup, we'll have him too.

i'm not sure how the future line up will look once everyone is healthy

sedins + burr
kes + ray + hig
sammy + coho + hansen
manny + lappy + sturm

defense is like...

salo + edler
hammer + juice
ballard + alberts/rome/tanev

i guess weise will probably take over coho's spot if he doesn't perform well enough. volpatti and ebbett will probably get sent down pretty soon.

im just throwing this out there, not too sure.

spideyv2 10-06-2011 12:58 AM

^i highly doubt they put our best faceoff guy on the wing, yet alone have sturm on the 4th

I hope mayray can get back to form, its unlikely tho

I find it a good thing people aren't picking us favorites. It just adds more pressure on the team.

However, Bodog has us the favorites to win the cup at 7-1 odds, and Boston 7-1 aswell

Damn got a bday dinner tonight but wanted to hit the gym too. Good thing I just got a Telus PVR installed last night. Only hard part is avoiding looking at the TV at the gym...
