It's less than 3. GAA is calculated over the period of the game, and not strictly by number of goals against. I don't really know the formula, but OT takes off roughtly .2 or so from your GAA.

^ truth. shootouts were never lu's friend. it's not a huge deal though, just disappointing :lol

No no, I'm not referring to the Goals Against Average, I'm simply referring to the "Goals Allowed" column in the overall team standings.

I believe GAA = GA/(minutes played) x 60

Its not a huge deal. Cause in a real game situation and playoffs. Players dont have the luxury of having All the time in the world to pull off 3-5 dekes to beat a goalie. So Luongo probably doesnt practise that.

I'm not one to ignore it when he deserves credit. But even if you look at that, whos fault was it for that loss in the elimination game. It comes down to luongo yelling at a ref instead of saving the puck. But seriously, never have I seen an "elite" goalie flop, miss the puck and give up so many shitty goals. As for schnieder I guess since you've only noticed him 2 years in the NHL, nothing else matters. Screw the AHL, NCAA etc. Personally I've seen him playing since college. It's not hard to tell when a goalies gonna be good, and it only helps to judge when you've played goalie yourself. Especially when hes that positionally sound. Your argument about schnieder is basically like saying when stamkos first joined the league: steven stamkos has never played in the league hes going to suck.
I've never been a Luongo fan, I am in no way on his "bandwagon".

No rage, just rant :p

Every goalie has their downside. Do you only watch the Canucks? Hasek flopped way more than Luongo (maybe not in shootouts) and is considered an elite goaltender. Every single goalie to ever play the game lets in shitty goals. I assume you watch 82 Canuck games / yr - how can you so matter-of-factly say other goalies don't make the same mistakes? Do you watch every other goaltender's game with as much attention to detail as you do Luongo's? I bet you don't.

And as far as Schneiders accolades, sorry buddy, junior stats dont mean SHIT in the NHL. Kevin Weekes was the goalie of the future! Now he's just a turrible colour :troll: commentator. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to take anything away from Schneider, he's a very good young goalie. I'm just saying you're not comparing apples to apples.

You're not going to be a very happy camper when Schneider gets traded and Lack is Luongo's backup. I would start preparing for that today.. like right now. :D

of course junior stats dont mean shit, schnieder didnt play juniors :troll:. Also hasek flopping and luongo flopping are two different things.
Luongo looks like he gets shot and falls flat on this face. Hasek flopped every direction and made the saves I also watch a hell of a lot more hockey than you think.

b0unce. [?] 10-07-2011 11:42 AM

Oh I prepared that Schneids will be gone. Unless we can find a way to move Luongo, there's no way for us to keep Schneids.

It's never enough until he wins the Stanley cup... I'm pretty sure he Agrees with my statement as well.
I'm actually happy he made some good saves at the end of third and bring us to OT and SO..

I will be pissed if he lost in reg time.

No better time than now to verify.

NHL.com has our Goals Allowed as 3.

shawn79 10-07-2011 01:41 PM

Put ego's aside pull Lu and put in schneids during shoot out if management talks to luongo and he feels comfortable with it. Since he has said he will do whatever it takes for the team to win

didnt giggy do that in toronto and won? :fuckthatshit:

I don't remember seeing Giguere do it in TO but I do remember the Leafs did it a couple years ago before him and they lost. Sure you're "shaking things up" but putting in a cold goalie? Stupid idea.

Oh, and George Parros is the man. Best enforcer my fave team's had since the Grim Reaper!

!YaoShi 10-07-2011 02:42 PM

So Darthchilli can't make it to the open practice to take two tickets from me. Does anyone wanna take them? They are centre ice.
