Surgery during the offseason

shawn79 10-11-2011 05:04 PM

hopefully the sedins and some canucks players walked by the boston bruins dressing room after the lost...

Gretzky walked by the islanders locker room after the lost in the scf in 1983, he went back to the finals next season and capture his first stanley cup because he wanted the celebration so bad

Weird. The story I heard was that they walked by expecting a crazy celebration, but found a lot of islanders icing/nursing injures. Basically teaching them what it took to win.

Would've been nice if the rioters attacked them when they left Roger Arena. :hat::hat:

Werd.

You know why it's A LOT longer than usual to get over, because the Stanley Cup was ours to lose.

I mean, being up 2 - 0 in the series and to another extent, needing only 1 more win with 2 games to spare... It's still difficult to process until now (or just hard to accept). I'm still sulking about it.

Oleophobic 10-11-2011 08:42 PM

totally
I'm still choked at how Boston embarrassed us with the amount of goals they scored + their antics whenever there's a scrum, like the whole Marchand Sedin punching bag incident.
oh yeah the Lu 'pumping tires' comment which backfired on him too

With that said though I'm definitely excited about this season though it's probably gonna take me another month or so to really get back into it.

Totally agree with you on all the points you made - I'm sulking with you. :(

:stfu: Wah, Wah, Wah

If the Canuck's were made up of yall pansies then I'd be worried. It was a fuckin awesome season and if somebody told me again that we were gonna make it again to the stanley cup finals again this season and we MIGHT win game 7, i'd do it all over again.

Die hard nucks fan here but after a short off season, Im just thankful that we have a team that can compete for many years to come. Unlike Ottawa...Toronto...... :haha:

MG1 10-11-2011 09:07 PM

Can we try not to talk about last season?

I'm so depressed now........... someone, quick............ upload some tittays to hep me forget.

sp00n 10-11-2011 09:32 PM

So pretty much Sturm thinks that all he needs to work on is familiarizing himself with the Canucks' system and not his speed.

This is a bigger problem than we thought.

Quote:

Sturm says his skating is fine but he is still learning the Canucks system and that is the real reason for his slow start. Think Andrew Alberts when he first came over to the Canucks.
"I think it's more the new system and new linemates, not my speed," Sturm said. "Unfortunately, it feels like it's going to take some time.

"I think I'm skating very well. My skating is up to speed. My next step is to get used to the linemates. Knowing where they will be will help me use my speed better to create some things. When that happens, it will be better.

"It's about timing now."
...
"This is different from what they wanted in Washington or (L.A.)," Sturm said. "It's the little details. This team is more aggressive from the other teams.

Sturm says he'll get better -- but maybe not faster
