Luongo this, Luongo that.
Its october..its a fucking write off

Luongo not liking the fans booing, give it up. your a fucking professional athlete.

Im gonna say it, Im not that big of a Luongo supporter, but neither am I a hater.
Isn't this all routine?

Yes, last night the game was blown out of proportion because the Canucks outshot the Rangers in a dominating style. Luongo gave up 4 weak ass goals. Give it up.

Hows Boston doing so far into the season?

woob 10-19-2011 03:03 PM

Boston is doing terrible.

But sadly, they have a Cup, and we don't.

Adding to darthchili's point;

The Canucks and Bruins lost again last night. Along with Sharks and Lightning, the final four from last spring have won only a combined 6 of 22 games.

it never gets to me either, nor do i ever blame the goalie directly but it's unavoidable that your team sag's when a goal is scored against you, and especially when it's scored against the flow of the game, it's human nature.

ok, deep breath guys heh. still early in the season. a lot of us just have this huge emotional investment in the team and expect better from them. give them time. ALL of them.

Burrows, Schneider, and Lapierre welcome Jody Vance to Breakfast Television

other then the first goal (bad rebound), the other 3 goals were the players fault. he had NO CHANCE on those goals. it was all bang bang plays. its easy to blame Lu because of his contract and his ego but seriously blaming Lu for the last 3 goals is ridicolous! I'm more concerned about our defensive coverage down low and why salo isnt on the first unit pp instead of sameulson. we played a great game last night but couldn't beat a hot goalie. sound familiar?

Kessel with another 3 points in a comeback win. :fuckyea:

All this talk about Luongo is funny though. He has proven that he has these slow starts but he has also proven to be a top goalie. Nothing to be worried about....

Except I seem to have really bad luck when drafting goalies. Last year I went with Rask and he soon lost the starting job to Thomas. Now I have Luongo and the critics are on him even more while champing at the bit for Schneider to take over. :suspicious:

MG1 10-19-2011 07:36 PM

I witnessed the Leafs win the Stanley Cup. I hope my other favourite team, the Canucks win it soon.

Once theyre down by two he tends to try one or two strategies then pack it in and gives the excuse of "the work ethic wasn't there tonight, we'll have to put this one behind us, and get focused on the next game". Does AV have any idea on how to motivate his players? To me it seems like we have Hank, Dank, Kes, and Juice who are the ones that are coaching this team.

Didn't A.V bench Trevor Lindin?

Didn't A.V call other coaches from other sports to see how to 're-motivate' the team this season?

Does A.V call time outs when the play is one sided and the game could go downhill fast?

Didn't A.V mix all of his lines up a few years ago on 3-4 game losing skid and turn it into a 9 game losing streak, and only when a certain local famous singer said he shouldn't keep mixing up his lines and he stoped they won.

Didn't Matthew Schinder, Marcus Nausland, Matt Cooke, and countless others not get along with A.V?

Has A.V learned that when you roll 4 lines, the games are always close, and end up in a majority of wins?

After multiple seasons, has A.V not learned how to deal with Luongos fragile ego?

Does A.V ever stack a line of Sedin x 2, Kesler, Salo, Edler on a non power play to try and get some offence?

Has A.V learned that the best defence is a good offence?

Is A.V destined to make the same mistakes again in the playoffs (If we make it) against Chicago 4 years in a row? Like he didn't learn after the first one.

I don't care what anyone says, A.V is a huge problem. Look at the Penguins when they made it aand lost to the Wings. What major move did they make to win the cup the next year?

Coaching is huge in hockey.

We will not win a Stanley Cup with A.V as head coach.

Did you ever think the Craig Mactavish is the coach of the Wolves for a reason or say a backup plan?

Definitely the back up plan. He wouldn't coach in the minors, at his age, if he wasn't assured there would be the potential to coach again in the NHL level. Rest assured, it may not be for the Canucks, but MacT is certainly a candidate to fill the roll should AV struggle

spoon.ek9 10-19-2011 09:50 PM

cressydrift: i reallly hope you're wrong about av but i agree with almost every single point you just made.

b0unce. [?] 10-19-2011 09:58 PM

there was just so many spelling mistakes in cressydrift's post haha

Hondaracer 10-19-2011 10:03 PM

Cressydrift, outside of your spelling mistakes you could asume the majority of those examples with every head coach.

joel quenville is a good coach overall cant compare him with AV, he pretty much killed us with the blues avs and now the hawks in the playoffs.

Oh AV was claude juliens assistant coach back in juniors thats y he outcoached him and beat us :lol

Claude Julien: "wait a minute...i know this, i taught him that yrs ago :fuckthatshit:"

He's a backup plan but there's a reason he's a coach in the minors.

He wouldn't coach just any team in the minors...he wanted to coach the Canucks minor league team.

Why? The past four coaches for the Moose, Randy Carlyle, AV, Scott Arniel and Claude Noel all landed NHL jobs after coaching the Moose. They were all considered the "next in line" for a NHL job after their success at the AHL level with the Canucks. The Canucks run a good program these days and while they haven't had a very good draft record in comparison to a lot of other teams, the system in the minors has developed a lot of very good players from guys that didn't exactly look like NHL caliber talents.

I still want to see Salo skate to the slot and crank one at the goalie during a shootout. First shooter. Even if you don't score, maybe you ring one off the dude's helmet and throw off his balance for a bit.
