After the shakiness that happened to Lu last season, I can't imagine giving up Schneider.
I assumed next season Lu would be on a shorter leash and Schneider have more opportunities.

Trading him will essentially give the team the right to talk and negotiate with his agent. Pretty much like what Hamuis went through last year.

Thanks to Eklund constantly bringing up the Leafs to gain hits on his site, I have been well aware of Richards becoming a UFA for more than a year now. Looks like he just wants to screw the Stars over.
Apparently Burke offered a 2nd for his rights earlier today.
Edit: or he doesn't want to screw over a team he has no intention of signing with.
