The NHL on Saturday changed the scoring on the Washington Capitals defenseman’s final goal in Friday night’s 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Wideman said after the game that the puck went in the net off teammate Brooks Laich.

The league agrees. Laich now gets credit for the goal, with assists to Wideman and John Carlson.

It would have been Wideman’s first career hat trick. The last Capitals defenseman to record a hat trick remains Sergei Gonchar in 2000.

Classy move. Nugent-Hopkins could take a lesson :troll:

Alfredsson returned.

Giroux and Hodgson have both been updated as "fine."

Haven't read anything about the others.

Wasn't paying enough attention to who said it, but one of the two said there is no rule in the NHL that protects a player on his knees who is still playing the puck from being hit. Um what about a player in a vulnerable position? Edler is on his knees playing the puck because he fell on his own and a Senator comes in to hit him. Um head shot anyone? I'm guessing it was that other guy who said it.

Good for Lappy for sticking up for his team mates.

woob 12-10-2011 09:28 PM

Did anyone notice the paper cup that was duct-taped to the outside of Hughson's broadcast booth (i.e. hanging over the rest of the stadium)? I was kinda WTF'd about it. I wonder what purpose it serves.

Oilers' Sutton suspended for eight games - NHL.com - News

i was happy to see that too. edler was on his fucking knees and gets hit. hes defenseless. what a teammate Lappy

as for Foligno or whatever faggot name he has, im glad Weise fought him after he hit Hodgson. Vulnerable position or not on Hodgson's part, after the hit the camera panned on the benches and you could see Weise chirping the sen's bench.

Jim Hughson or the other commentator mentioned several times during the game that teams would try to rough up the canucks after seeing boston do it succesfully in the SCF. Tonight was a right step in this direction i hope

Not everyone is as tough as nails and supremely skilled. The sedins are at the other end of that spectrum clearly. Their teammates better well damn support them

Not good news.. Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is out indefinitely with concussion-like symptoms.

TSNDolan Katherine Dolan
#Crosby - says frustrating- doesn't even begin to explain how he feels
Not a fan of Crosby but really hate to see this happening to the best player in the game.

411ken 12-12-2011 10:04 AM

Pitts are 17-9.. They don't need crosby right now..They better shut him down and take all the time in the world before sending this guy back out on the ice or we might see the end of crosby wayy too soon.

Agreed.

As a player, he wants to compete and will either go hard out there or kill himself if the Pens do not force him to sit out games. For the Pens, they should enforce that he should not play for at least another season or 2 for his sake.

lol I agree that sitting out 1-2 seasons sounds like A LOT but .. given that crosby is only what 24-25? if it means prolonging his career why not? he clearly didn't lose a step when he sat out almost an entire season.

DanHibiki 12-12-2011 01:03 PM

Just bring him back before the playoffs
