I remember going to the game when Fleury first played here and sitting up in the last row and being blinded by his pads

7seven 12-20-2011 12:30 PM

I remember 1 player saying the first time he played Fleury wearing those yellow pads he was so distracted when he was skating in on him, I guess Mason's ridiculous mascot pads will have the same effect lol

kwy 12-20-2011 12:31 PM

haha, i remember when Fleury debuted in the NHL with those bright, loud pads. They were great.

Also a big fan of Roy's pads growing up. 5 hole: "come at me."

Ya, the 5 hole pads were awesome.

kwy 12-20-2011 12:37 PM

These are so dope.

Armstrong is out with a concussion after a collision with Kes

Quote:

Colby Armstrong is sidelined indefinitely with a concussion.

The hard-luck Maple Leafs forward suffered the concussion on Saturday night after colliding with Vancouver’s Ryan Kesler, but hid his condition from team trainers until he was found vomiting and suffering blurry vision on Monday.

“He didn’t tell the trainers or the doctors, but he had his bell rung,” said Leafs coach Ron Wilson. “He was nauseated, blurry vision, so he’s got a concussion, and we didn’t know that.

“He’s going to be out however long he needs to be out now.”

Armstrong was scratched from Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. The Leafs will call up a player from the Marlies to replace him in the lineup.

“It took us all by complete shock. We had no idea he had his bell rung, he kept it from us,” said Wilson. “Things have been going so badly for him with injuries.”

Armstrong also cracked a toe in Saturday’s game, but told Wilson he could play through that injury. Armstrong missed 32 games last year and has played only nine this year due to various injuries. Most recently, he missed 23 games with a high ankle sprain.

Armstrong collided toe-to-toe and head-to-head with Kesler.

“He skated (Monday) morning and felt okay but was nauseous afterward,” said Wilson. “He was also nauseated (Sunday) and didn’t tell us after he rode a bike.”

^ Damn what a trooper... it's heartbreaking knowing how bad he wants to play that he didn't even tell anyone he was concussed and was puking all morning from it ... I've been concussed before and it's terrible... can't even walk, let alone play NHL-level hockey ... on a reverse note he would be an idiot to lace up his skates if he was concussed, if he was knocked around again he could REALLY be fucked!

if Lu or Schneids gets Fin on their pads, they need to be slapped.

The Bluejackets mascot is a giant penis and balls with a mustache? :fulloffuck:

Fleury's reason to switching pads: Fleury's forecast: whiteout

I guess that is another term some people use to describe their penis

Tim Budong 12-20-2011 05:12 PM

i think if he just asked the team, they be okay with him steppin on the ice for a stroll
he might not need to pay to do that. the canucks could use this as a bit of PR anywyas

kwy 12-20-2011 05:15 PM

CBJ mascot looks like a blue condom in a wheelchair.

..but it actually has to do with Ohio's civil war history.

My favorite pads still have to be Fleury's bright yellow pads lol.

Luongo's new pads are sick as fuck, and i'm not just saying that cause I like Lu, i'm a big equipment guy as well and he obviously got them straight custom from RBK

also i belive it has RL on the inside of the outside of the pad

RRxtar 12-20-2011 06:15 PM

Sick as fuck? I'm not hating but they're all white with a stripe along the outer edge. Pretty plain if you ask me. At the NHL level, every goalie's equipment is going to be custom made...

most players with RBK rock the premier series or i guess this new "revoke" line, and most of them have the same ones anyone could go buy from any store, try and find Lu's pads somewhere..

what would you like, an orca split between the 2 pads? simple is always better and imo they go very well with his gear

what makes u think Lu isnt wearing the premier or revoke? Just because its all white with an outer green stripe makes them special? lol

SumAznGuy 12-20-2011 08:55 PM

I thought Lu is wearing the new RBK P4 pads.

AzNightmare 12-20-2011 09:45 PM

Lu is wearing the new RBK Premier 4 pads. A few NHL goalies have them.
They aren't on the market for noobs like the rest of us yet.

Maybe next year.

Nothing special about Lu's current pads. But I do find them slick.

Much better than the P4's he was using earlier... either preseason or early in the season. Not too sure.
http://i40.tinypic.com/mhaj42.jpg

My favourite are still his P2 pads.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lmEadFuhaP...luongo-300.jpg

And I hated his all whites. But I'll just assume he did that so he could use the same pads during the Olympics...

Not to troll, cause everyone here hates Thomas.
But his old pads were my favourite in terms of design. Fleury's yellow was ugly.

This thread is pretty cool for those that want to check out all the updated goalie gear around the league.
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/7532082.page

A bunch of goalies are wearing the P4's. Fluery and Bernier also have their pads "themed" similar to Luongo's.
