Personally, I couldn't care less what kind of pads or designs Luongo decides to wear so long as he stops the puck.
He could wear the ugliest, beat up, torn to shit pads that he's had since he was 12 years old that no longer fit him as long as he consistently shows us the same level of skill that was seen for the Minnesota game.
Lu does seem to be playing better. Taylor and Valk brought up a good point that he had to improve his game with Cory going on such a hot streak for awhile there. Lu needs to be pissed off a bit to play better it seems. I guess everyone needs a good kick in the butt from time to time.
Lu's new pads have a clean look, but unless you have a serious boner for goalie gear I wouldn't call them "sick as fuck."
White pads don't usually look too great and scuffs show up better, but it's harder for a shooter to read the goalie and see openings when their equipment blends in better with the ice and the boards.
Guys running goalies is fucking rediculous, but seriously, the defencemen need to stop shoving the guys into the goalies. If you're beat, you cant just shove the guy into your goalie.

I thought Phaneuf showed good restraint to not do that a few games ago when Hansen beat him on the outside.
Kane was given a little shove.. he was going pretty fast too.. question is would he have ran the goalie over if he wasn't pushed? I think the shove made it a lot worse...he might have ran into the post instead?
It looks like he made an effort to jump into the net to avoid contact but accidentally struck Montoya with his stick while he was falling. Even though he caused an injury, this can't really be compared to Tootoo or Lucic's hit IMO.
time to redesign the helments something like the NFL has but with more vision. Kinda have to tie in the helmet with something the supports the neck and ties into the shoulder pads. The game is way to quick and the players and way to strong this day and age.
It's sad to say but unless they take out hitting theres nothing that can be done.

Or you know, have shoulder pads that are actual pads instead of hardening plastic that is essentially used as a weapon.

The pads back in the day when I started playing hockey were just a hard plastic and were way more dangerous then what they have today. There will always be something in every sport they causes injuries.
The game is so quick there is honestly nothing they can do right now until they have life like holograms playing the game so no one will actually get hurt.
put the red line back in lol. major cause of the concussions that arnt accidental are the shoulder pads if they went back to old style there would be less. also its not so much an increase of concussions, its players are just finally admitting they have them.
