It's a "corset" he has to wear after Boychuk checked him into the boards in game 6 of the finals, that fractured his vertebrate

spoon.ek9 06-27-2011 11:20 PM

it's a brace to keep his back hyper extended to relieve the pressure. seems to be a less aggressive one than the one he had on initially after the injury.

I wished I had one of those maybe...
Would it fix my slouching issue?

^I remember that video. he's gotta be gay which is fine but why did he have to do that on the air?

He must get off doing that stuff while on TV.

Its called having a balanced lineup. Its a Coaches dream to have that much depth from your first line to your 4th.

It's not about who the best player is...that's not how they order the lines. It's about what role the line plays and who has the best chemistry with who. Our 3rd line is a defensive checking line that plays against the opposing team's top players. They've got some speed and the ability to score the odd goal. That has Hansen's name all over it. Plus the Hansen-Malhotra-Torres 3rd line is one of the reasons the Canucks won the regular season.

Our 4th line is more out there to play physical, don't get scored on and let the Sedins rest. They don't get the defensive responsibility and are usually out against the other team's 3rd or 4th line.

LOL I didn't notice that.

When he says "you're an announcer with a long stick from time to time", what else could that mean besides something dirty!?!?!? How could he say that on TV unless there was a non-perverse meaning behind it.

Cross out another top 6 forward to play with Kes:

@SportsnetSpec: Caps sign Brooks Laich to a 6-year deal

Damn, Laich was one of the guys I was hoping Gillis would try to get here, great leader in the room and plays hard. Rumor is the deal is $27mil for 6 years, so a $4.5 mil cap hit, a bit much for Laich IMO, I was expecting somewhere around $3.5mil cap hit.

Kopecky also signed with Florida today, 4 year deal, no word on $ terms yet. Great bottom six player, but 4 years might be a bit long depending on $ terms.

murd0c 06-28-2011 06:48 AM

Man this year's free agents are looking weak.

jeedee 06-28-2011 07:23 AM

Let's just hope we have lots of trades to make up for it :fullofwin:

Thats if he's willing to take a low salary this year. I think he personally will since we gave me a tryout last year and we all know he wants to win a cup.

Domed 06-28-2011 08:05 AM

he made 1 mil last season so i dont think his salary will be that much higher. he deserves a couple hundread thousand dollar raise for his performance last season

Yes but he'll very likely be getting a raise. Canucks signed him as a 'nothing to lose' bargain that worked out well.

krazynuck 06-28-2011 08:09 AM

Reported that Dupuis re signed with pittsburgh for 2 years @ 1.5 million a season....comparable (last season) numbers with Laich

I would but no more than $1.5m. Preferrably $1.25m.

I would keep Alberts, Tanner Glass depending on price, but let Rypien go (too much baggage).
