All the scoring was in the 1st...lol (minus EN). I was waiting for Minny to get a little more chippy though but it didn't really happen. I chalked it up to a textbook game for the boys.

Too bad we're going to miss the Boston game doing touristy stuff. I predict a ho-hum game in Boston.

where are you sitting in Florida/Tampa?

TouringTeg 01-05-2012 09:10 AM

Anyone know who is going to be broadcasting the Boston game Saturday? You would think NBC or CBC would pick it up.

It can. But the way I see it, Boston has nothing to prove to the Canucks and should not initiate. I think the Canucks mentality should be 'its just another game out of 82, its no more important than any other regular season game'. This group seems to be good at not getting caught up in the emotions of each game, for better and for worse. But I'm cautiously using the word 'should'

It's not a national broadcast game, it'll be on Sportsnet Pacific and NESN. NBC features NHL national games on Sundays, not Saturdays.

highfive 01-05-2012 09:42 AM

IMO CBC was stupid not to broadcast this game. We don't know who's going to start until tomorrow. Gut feeling it's Lui.

God damn early games on weekends.

7seven 01-05-2012 10:00 AM

All I know is that Saturday is going to be a long shift for me drinking and at the bars. Canucks/Bruins in the morning, then NFL Wild Card games rest of the day, Cincy/Houston and Lions/Saints.

The starting lineup for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star game is...

OTT Daniel Alfredsson RW
OTT Milan Michalek LW
OTT Jason Spezza C
OTT Erik Karlsson D
TOR Dion Phaneuf D
BOS Tim Thomas G

TouringTeg 01-05-2012 10:06 AM

Thanks guys! Can't wait.

Odds are it will be Lu coming off his shut out. Would be interesting to see how Schneider would do in Boston though.

Avicii - Levels - YouTube

Thanks for sharing the song.
But don't think that's going to work for hockey.

Lu should get the start.
He's playing well right now and he needs to redeem himself.

Ronin 01-05-2012 01:16 PM

Should be Lu. AV stuck with Schnoo when he was hot. No reason he shouldn't do the same with Luongo. AV rewards good performances with ice time...unless you're Cody Hodgson.

Ronin 01-05-2012 01:17 PM

And the goal song needs to be the HBK Theme. We'd be the envy of the league as every other team goes "WHY DIDN'T WE THINK OF THAT!?"

Looks like the next game is the 1 and only game I am going to miss; and purposely too.

Don't really know how to handle it, seems like a lose-lose situation. If they lose, it won't be exorcising any demons. If they win, it's even that much more painful when it then asks the question, where was that effort in the last 2 games of the SCF.

lol, thought I was over the loss... guess not. :lol

HonestTea 01-05-2012 02:33 PM

WTF @ Starting Line up.

I dunno man, our team was pretty banged up by the end...

pastarocket 01-05-2012 02:49 PM

IMO, Luongo should get the start in Boston. He's played well in the past ten games, especially in the shutout win over Minnesota. Luongo played well to help the team earn a point in a game where San Jose out played them for large stretches.

Did anyone hear the discussion between Don Taylor and Gary Valk on Sportsnet Pacific about which goalie should play on Saturday? I agree with Don on Luongo starting. Valk says that the coach should "throw a bone" to Schneider and play him on Saturday because he's from Boston and friends and family will be watching the game. Huh?

-don't agree with Valk's argument about starting a goalie just because his family and friends want to watch him play.

dbaz 01-05-2012 03:14 PM

spezza deserves it hes up there in points on a shitty team. he was top 5 2 weeks ago or so
