It's a conundrum for the NHL... how do you get fans to participate in voting without getting results that are clearly skewed?
Only in extreme circumstances would the NHL intervene (aka Vote for Rory) to change (rig) the results... but clearly, the starting lineup there doesn't reflect the best players in the East.

I think the biggest problem with the all-star voting is that you're allowed multiple entries.
At least 'Vote for Rory' campaign was hilarious. This situation, not so much.

Question about the ASG,
Are they still doing the draft system like last year? [Team Staal VS Team Lidstrom]

"Following the overwhelming success of its debut at last year's All-Star Weekend in Raleigh, the 2012 Molson Canadian NHL All-Star Player Fantasy Draft will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 to divide the group into the two competing All-Star Teams, each comprised of 12 forwards, six defensemen and three goaltenders." its like every year theres a campaign by a teams fans to pump that teams tires... uh.. votes.
we all remember the vote for rory
couple years ago the canadians got 5 out of 6 i think
now ottawa.
they gotta figure something out.
maybe the media selects 2 players from each team and only one can make the starting line up or something.

Schnooo should have started Game 6 in the SCF
It's going to be a good game on Saturday.
Bruins are clobbering the Lames right now 7-0... As much as I hate the Bruins, that is one solid team.

Michalek, Kessel AND Lupul having more votes than Crosby and Giroux? | Dude Crosby shouldn't even be on the ballot. He's played what, eight games this year? What a joke.

Michalek, Kessel AND Lupul having more votes than Crosby and Giroux? | Michalek is top 8 in goals and Kessel is 3rd in points. Why the hell wouldn't they get lots of votes?

Also, you have guys like Gaborik and Stamkos who have more goals and are flashier players.
Michalek 743,977 votes vs Stamkos 185,342 votes.
