DO IT DUCKS, DO IT :lol |
Chris Butler tied an NHL record with his -7 performance. It's absolutely hilarious on CalgaryPuck right now. Even the diehard believers have given up on the team now. |
im not giving up.......it was a bad game, but i recall the canucks getting blown out as well, and their fans giving up on their team... happens to every team. except the stanley cup champs, boston :troll: |
Eleven players with the Flames have no trade clause. Wonder how many will waive them. Good luck revamping. It's the Flames so don't care. Except for Iggy. |
Corey Perry from the Ducks is pretty much untouchable. I'm guessing if they trade someone, it'd be Ryan than Getzlaf. |

The Flames are like how the Leafs were under JFJ - just trying to tread water in 9-12th place instead of rebuilding with a roster devoid of prospects and full of aging vets with big money NTC contracts. Gotta make some tough decisions and watch long time favourites move on. |

It's because you can't get anything for Selanne and Koivu lol Selanne is pretty much near the end of his career, I'm guessing Koivu is as well. While Getzlaf/Perry/Ryan can fetch for something much much better. |
if i were MG, I'd take that trade in a heartbeat |

we should give them ballard though :lawl: |
on a serious note.... lightnings are going to get a new head coach for sure. No playoff spot so far in their vision for the cup. |

It's unfair to compare them but I remember when Lemieux retired, I thought he was still so good that he could've played at a high level for another year or two. The year after the lockout, he led the scoring race a quarter of the way in and then got injured and retired. He could've played til he was 50 if it wasn't for his injuries. Hell, on 24/7, he looked pretty slick on the ice during the Pens staff game. Speaking of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, with Koivu I think it's more about respect than anything. Guy beat a terrible disease to come back the way he did. Don't forget he also suffered a pretty horrific eye injury and almost lost it like Manny. Also, the guy has a cancer foundation that's raised millions. I mean, think about how much we already like Manny here...I'm sure it's greater than that for those Koivu has played for and with and probably rightly so. Think about how hostile the crowd is in Montreal and how they gave him a standing O when he returned to Montreal as a Duck. |
bag of pucks for perry? sure anything else NO THANKS |
All this trade BS with my beloved Ducks has me doing a permanent facepalm at the moment. The only person who needs to go ASAP right now is the GM, Bob Murray. For him to even fathom getting rid of any of the core players should automatically get him his walking papers. Yes, this season is in the dumps...BIG TIME. I'm no homer fan, I know this team is underachieving in the worst way. That being said, this shows me just how stupid of a GM Murray is. ONE HALF OF A SHIT SEASON, EVERYONE'S GOTTA GO! Seriously? As much as Anaheim is underachieving now, they were overachieving last season. Their top D pairing of Visnovsky/Lydman both had career years, and that masked the problems they have on defence. Both Visnovsky and Lydman are IMO, past their primes, Beauchemin is their only reliable defenceman, and Fowler and Sbisa are still young, still learning, and still making mistakes. It takes time! But genius Bob Murray trades away our next best D prospect in Gardiner along with Lupul, for Beauchemin. The top line of RPG did what they were supposed to, and Corey Perry felt like going beast mode on everyone. Secondary scoring doesn't exist past Teemu Selanne, all Koivu and Blake do is get in his way (don't believe me? Check out their point totals for guys making 4 F'ING MIL). No third line, no fourth line. Hiller carried them through the first half of last season, and Perry and Selanne got them through the last half. Now that all these problems are becoming pretty evident, what has Murray done to fix them? OH RIGHT, get a bunch of plugs. Hagman? Gordon? Cogliano? Granted, the owners won't let him spend to the cap ceiling, but he seriously makes some idiot moves. Yes we were desparate for D last season, but it cost us D down the road, and that SECONDARY SCORING they need right now (Lupul & Gardiner for Beauchemin). DSP and Etem are the future, and a 2nd line that should be built around Bobby Ryan is in order. They'll have quite a bit of salary coming off the books next year, and they can afford to jettison guys like Lydman or Visnovsky for draft picks or whatever. I'd rather see my team suffer for a while and come back strong, than be mired in mediocrity because of some numbskull GM thinks we can win every season. /rant. |

Hes only a 26 yr old 50 goal scorer who has won it all, arguably one of the best players during the Vancouver 2010 olympics. Yeah no big deal. |
lol at the people saying they wouldn't want Perry on their team.. Hodgson is a great prospect, and Raymond has some good streaks here and there, Ballard is pretty much a bust for his salary... You'd be stupid not to take this trade which means it probably isn't true. |
