From my pov, I don't see why Anaheim would take that trade since they don't really need a goalie.
I'd rather have weber. As mentioned above, salo will most likely be gone next season. Posted via RS Mobile |

Pretty much any "big" deal we do (if we even pull one out) will be to a team that is in need of a good goalie. You can cross most of the western conference out of the equation because teams generally only trade their good players to the other conference.
Both Anaheim and Nashville are teams that are set in goal.

I agree that we need another top 4 d-man more than another forward (even if it is Perry).

If you were to start your own team, who would you draft first?
My pick: Jonathan Toews.

Its true... we do need another defence man, but this rumor of corey perry seems more likely then shea weber... Corey perry makes 5 million a year which would easily fit into our cap if we were to unload kieth ballards 4.2 and mayray 2.5 and schneider 1 something. Even if we did go after shea weber he is making 6 mill on his final year of his contract in nashville and MG is not likely gonna pay shea weber 6-7 m that he would want to resign him.

Although I don't see either happening, Weber > Perry any day.

+1 for weber though. |

Well... Perry would give a big upgrade on offense.
To make up for Lu's bad nights?? lol
I'm skeptical about these trade rumors none the less.
Anaheim gets no real benefit from this trade.
The biggest selling point is Schneider, and like everyone said, they already have a goalie.

what would the lineup be with perry in it? 2nd line with kesler?
edit: and if we didn't give up schneids (because either the ducks don't want him or the canucks don't want to let him go), who else would we trade?

I dont believe in trading away our insurance policy in net just to get a star forward or dman in return.
if anything, the asking price for schneids could be too high atm as well

None of these trades at going to happen. There's no reason for Nashville to deal Weber to the Canucks. Nothing we would be willing to trade is of any value to them.
...and Anaheim would be stupid to take that deal.
Let's be reasonable. We aren't getting anyone big. We're at most getting a 2nd pairing D or grit down on the bottom six. You're dreaming if you think the Canucks are adding anything as significant as Weber (Norris candidate/favorite) or Perry (reigning NHL MVP/Cup and gold medal winner). Why? Because we don't have anything to trade that would be worth either of those guys and their GMs aren't stupid, ESPECIALLY since we are in the same freakin conference.
I saw suggestions of PK Subban and that is about as high as I could possibly imagine the Canucks trading for.

Canucks dont need to trade Schneider, he's a RFA! They just have to make him a 105% qualifying offer after the season is over... the only thing any other teams can do is sign him to an offer sheet, and using Elliot's contract as a measure for what he could get, he'd probably be offered in the 3.5-4 mill range which would mean that team would have to give us like 4 draft picks as compensation...........

I would hate to see Schneids get traded
but lets be realistic here. I can only think of 3 teams that could possibly make good use of this guy
Islanders, Devils and CBJ
All 3 clubs lack a goalie..and Marty isnt getting any younger
There are guys in the Islanders organization that could be a good fit... Travis Hamonic? or maybe one of their young guns
The devils really have not much to offer back..and ITS NOT PARISE...
CBJ just want to unload salary...so those old farts are out of the question
I find it funny how a lot of ppl are saying Weber is done with NSH.. remember, Suter also needs a new contract.. and with Ryan Ellis..maybe ready for primetime.. i can see Suter being the odd man out.
Sadly, NSH really do not need much from our team...They have Rinne, they will NOT take on Ballards 4.2mil..

| I'd add Tampa to the list. They really need an upgrade over Roli and Garon
