I'm hooked on watching some good shootouts from Linden.

There's so many on YouTube. It's amazing how he doesn't even do any
sort of deke or stick waves or anything. He just skates in, picks a corner,
and snaps it in. So accurate...

Chris Higgins will not fly with the #Canucks to Colorado. He'll join the team during the trip when he feels better.

#Canucks trying to call up Byron Bitz from Chicago, but weather in Colorado is preventing him from flying in right now.

Luongo will start Saturday against the Avalanche; Daniel and Henrik Sedin will play together, despite being split up Thursday night.

New video of clock glitches in LA happening prior to the Columbus game:

Gumby 02-03-2012 02:08 PM

Regarding this clock glitch, the NHL is lucky it happened against Columbus (well, unlucky for Columbus). Imagine if one of the original 6 teams got shafted by this!

I think the jackets coach said it, that while it won't really matter to them, it does matter a great deal to the west playoff race, that extra 1 point might be the difference for the final playoff spot or them overtaking the sharks for the division.

Hondaracer 02-03-2012 05:41 PM

i laugh at all the people who say the kings actually benefited directly from this

you guys actually think by giving them an extra second it meant they would score? the chance of that happening again even if you gave them 3-5 seconds is MINISCULE

We aren't talking about the future, we are talking about what ACTUALLY happened. You can argue that an extra few seconds will not change the outcome of a game 99/100 times (NOTE: not an actual statistic), but in this case at least, we can be 100% sure that not having that extra second would have prevented a goal. As such, the Kings did benefit. I hope you see the distinction.

And the reason for the fanfare around this glitch is that it has implications on playoff seeding in a tight Western Conference.

:suspicious:
Did you not watch the video?
Kings DID score, and won the game.

RRxtar 02-03-2012 06:25 PM

I think Hondaracer is trying to say that someone made the clock glitch a second to give the Kings more time to score. that may be a stretch... altho it is possible given they were pressing hard and had a chance to shoot.

regardless of speculation or conspiracies, the reality is if the clock didnt glitch, the Kings would not have scored. you cannot argue that. and they might have lost the game.

Hodson is just another prime example of a player which a lot of fans gave up on before he really had an opportunity to show what he can do within the Canucks organization. Regular contributors here included.

Kids a stud.

there werent many of us saying give coho a chance. most fans and most of this thread had him written off in training camp. hes actually developing even faster than i thought he would

CoHo had half a season in the AHL and a handfull of games in the big league after missing like 2 years with back problems. you cant do anything with back problems, not even work out. remember how long it took Kesler to break out? not saying CoHo is the same kind of player as Kes, but give him another year. he showed signs of that hockey sense we saw in the Jrs and have been promised about. he just needs to get his speed up. he improved a ton over in the short time he was up

why does everyone think coho has been rotting in the minors for 5 years? he just turned 21 and was drafted in 08, and wasnt expected to break the big league immediately anyway. then add to that, he missed all of the 08-09 season with his back problems, and then was sent back to the OHL in 09-10 and only played 13 games and missed the rest of the season, again, due to back problems. hes only had 1 year as a pro which was this year and it took him half the season to get up to AHL speed.

give him another year before deciding what to do with him. let him own in the A and if we have an injury up the middle, bring him up then

not sure if serious ... because THEY DID, I mean I get where you coming from 99/100 that extra second doesn't make a difference but in this case it just did and now they have 1 point in the standings they shouldn't have, that could very well be the difference in qualifying for the post season, home ice, or division lead. I don't understand why the NHL doesn't make them have an overtime period to start their next meeting, I believe the NBA did something similar a few years ago.

A lot of people lost faith in Hodgson but I always believed in him. A lot of haters but I just ignored them and I knew one day his talent will shine and shut them up.
