They were doing that last night.

Today morning, they were making fun of Ron McLean and his constant reminder of him being a professional referee.

i'm loving all the negative press and bad luck on ice boston is suffering from lately. makes me smile every time.

Nathan Horton missed 6 games with a concussion and now he is back to square one as he is had more concussion symptoms when he went for a skate. This is his second concussion since the Rome hit.

Went to my first game 2 weeks ago against the oilers , great first game.

Wonderful experience!

spoon.ek9 02-10-2012 12:19 PM

wait, gomez scored his goal against the islanders? :fuckthatshit:

penalty summary from the last minute of last night's game:

19:32 VAN Maxim Lapierre served by Mike Duco : Spearing (maj) - 5 min
19:32 VAN Maxim Lapierre : Game misconduct - 0 min
19:41 VAN Kevin Bieksa : Roughing - 2 min
19:41 VAN Dan Hamhuis : Misconduct (10 min) - 0 min
19:41 VAN Kevin Bieksa : Misconduct (10 min) - 0 min
19:41 MIN Dany Heatley : Roughing - 2 min
19:41 MIN Cal Clutterbuck : Misconduct (10 min) - 0 min

again, no idea how Brad Staubitz got ZERO penalty minutes out of that. he started the entire thing. also, hammer wasn't doing anything but holding clitterfuck but i guess refs threw him out just in case.

I've been observing Boston Bruin games quite sometime now and i see a lot of teams in the east aren't taking their bullying crap anymore. Like the Rangers, Flyers and Sens :fuckyea:
One day we will see a whole new boston bruins in the NHL. They already have Savard and Horton down. I dont like to see players injured but i would like to see Marchand next victim to be bent into pretzel on ice!

I only care because it was a dick move by Minnesota's coaching staff to put a plug on the ice for the last minute of the game for the sole purpose of starting shit (with the intent to injure our players obviously).

Hondaracer 02-10-2012 05:11 PM

i swear Team1040 has a mandate to not talk about Manny, just like when they wouldnt even allow people questioning why Rick Rypien was continually taking leave of abscences's..

His eye is obviously not even close to 100%, and if anyone saw a couple games ago when bieksa's stick came up into his face while trying to check [i belive] a Nashville opponent, the guy is absolutely terrified of anything getting back up into his eye and to say it's effecting his play would be an understatement..

IMO the only reason he's even on the team anymore is because A) the Nucks feel obligated to keep him around after the whole eye incident

B) His presence within the room

other than that imo he's a big time liability right now.

jeedee 02-10-2012 05:18 PM

The Canucks being "obligated to keep him around after the whole eye incident" is one of the stupidest things I've read.

A) Manny's one of the BEST faceoff men at 57.8% or something like that (4th in the NHL this year even WITH an eye that isn't "100%")
B) He's a big part of the PK, taking the load off of Kes.
C) He's a big part of preserving leads

It makes me facepalm when I read that people take Manny for granted and want him gone for not racking up points.

He was brought in specifically for A, B and C. Not to score 50 goals.

Hondaracer 02-10-2012 05:26 PM

lol.. Faceoffs.. yay? he's -10.. the worst on the team and 1 of only 4 players on the team that is a - player..

as for being a "big part of the PK" again.. what is he offering? Face offs? he's petrified to block shots, ive seen more turn overs than clears, and he doesnt play the front of the net?

the bottom line is, we have a player that is playing on our team that is no where near 100%, if you think he isnt currently a liability, you dont know anything about hockey or you havent been watching the games, he sticks out like a sore thumb

I "face palm" when people put emotional ties ahead of factual stats as reason to keep players around.

DanHibiki 02-10-2012 05:28 PM

I hope he adjusts to the eye thing and gets back to the old Manny.

If Ohlund could do it I'm sure he can.

He was such a beast last year :(

Simulated 02-10-2012 05:31 PM

trading him away now will likely hurt the team morale at this point. everyone on the team looks up to him for leadership. at least he's been seeing a lot of 4th line and faceoff duties only lately. to be fair he was -7 in oct and since then -3.

-10 for a guy who spends his entire icetime in the defensive zone. You do know that other teams score on the powerplay right?

I've watched enough hockey to know he offers to the Canucks:

Speed, leadership qualities, face-off ability, able to kill penalties, preserve leads and is a versatile checking forward.

It would be nice for him to get some goals, but what more do you want from the guy?

He's 4th in the ENTIRE NHL for faceoffs with 1 eye. Seems like someone hasn't watched enough games and thinks I haven't? :lawl:

Make a valid point, or don't post at all.

dbaz 02-10-2012 05:37 PM

there's a difference of trying to avoid a high stick and a spear. the nashville game was a spear it could have caused major injury to any player, people try to avoid those.
a 3rd and 4th line player is never going to be a + player every year. also a player that plays the pk +/- is never really a true tale either as a minus can come 1 second after a power play.
on top of this last year he had pp time, not this year. honestly if he ends up with 20-30 pts and keeps his face off percentage around the same hes done just as much as last year.

for the record, PPG goals do not count against your +/-

He's -10 because he ONLY takes defensive zone faceoffs, he's never on the ice for ANY offensive flurries, so of course he's a minus player! The only one worthy of a facepalm is yourself as you obviously don't understand how hockey games are played nor are you aware of what roles different players like Malholtra have.

We're a deeper team this year, he's no longer the 3rd line centre that's supposed to score.

:suspicious:

I always thought a player got a minus when he's on the ice and the other team scores on even strength, PPG or SHG.

trip 02-10-2012 05:51 PM

he obviously knows nothing about hockey and how important defensive zone face offs are.

you might as well start saying ryan shannon is better than trevor linden because he won a CUP with the ducks

please go back to watching disney on ice
