Everyone says hes not a $10M goalie. Fuck who gives a shit how much he makes. I only care about the cap hit at $5.33M per year. he will retire or get traded towards the end. | I haven't been saying the cap hit is the only thing that matters for the last 3 years Posted via RS Mobile |

I'd like to see Ballard get a fair shot at performing. He doesn't fit the current system overly well but has upside, and style of play isn't a whole different than when we had Jovo, cept Ballard throws better hips Remember when Bieksa was ostracized and about as popular as Ballard currently is? Then Hamhuis came along... Play Hammer and Ballard together for half a year and let's revisit this then. I've been tooting Hammer's horn a long time, and if Bieksa earns a nice raise he owes Hammer a good cut.
After a few days, I am getting more and more bothered by AV and his inability to get the team up and going. It's so easy to play the "if I was coach I would do x" game, but AV really did not do anything to get the attention of the team in the finals, and did not try anything to change up the look of the attack when it was clear that the wheels were not all rolling together. What did he do when we started the third period game 7 down 3-0? Nothing. Hey, maybe he had that much faith in the group, that's great. But in hindsight, clearly that faith was misplaced.
Just by the amount of quality looks and chances they had on Thomas early on, but buried each lazy shot into his body/pads helping to fuel Thomas' own confidence, tells me either the coaching staff is not prepping the team well enough on the game plan and opposition or the team has started to tune out just a bit... and it always starts off with just a bit.

I'm pumped next season... I see the last season as something to build up on... I can only speculate whe gillis will do and that is part of the being a fan. One thing that I did enjoy as Torres being on our team and hope that he'll be back next season Posted via RS Mobile |

Who else hopes that they'll take the opportunity to completely ditch the orca, and just use the stick in rink, and maybe even the Johnny Canuck V as an alternate!
The company is not even called Orca Bay anymore, it's time to move on.

I think a Johnny Canuck jersey would look pretty sweet as an alternate

As a diehard fan I can't wait for the next season to start. And lets keep that in mind the season starts in 3.5 months!!! Can you imagine - it's the quickest ever.
Draft is next Week
Free Agency is July 1.
I really see our team in the mold of the Detroit Red Wings before Yzerman took his game to the next level and leading the Wings to the Championship. People called him soft, not a big game player, bad captain but it just took some tweaking to the team that pushed them over the hump. This is where I see the Sedins to be this year - I'm hoping they realize they gotta up their game and play with grit, heart and emotion next time they are in the playoffs.
Canucks will be hungry after coming so close to the Cup and they will be ready to win it all next season.
What I see we need.
1. Gotta resign Hoff and Bieksa (either one). If it gets pricey gotta resign Juice and left hoff walk
2. They gotta find Kesler a Wingman. Top 6 PF finisher type that can be interchanged to Sedin line if they are getting run over
3. Line 3 and 4 is fine if they resign 3 out of hansen, torres, lapeirre and higgins.
As long as on paper we are a better team then last year - we'll be fine. Whatever we are missing we can add at the trade deadline.

You are amazing. | You can also look at it from the point of view, that rather than having a 1st 2nd and 3rd, you have a 1st, 1st and 1st
Who says you HAVE to have 3rd line caliber players on your "3rd line"? Stack the team... the cup will be where it belongs next year.

The Johnny Canuck logo looks dumb on the jersey. It should stay as an unofficial logo for the canucks. It looks so childish or it looks like it belongs in the AHL. Not an NHL logo imo.
The johnny V looks good on the shoulder though.

Isn't the Orca they're corporate logo? Which means it'd have to be on the uniform somehow whether it remain crested in the centre or as shoulder patches? Posted via RS Mobile |

I hope Ballard gets another chance to stick around and prove he can play into AV's system, he seems like a pretty stand up guy with a good attitude. That way I could also keep my Ballard jersey
Like SkinnyPupp, I like the idea of Max Talbot here. Some veteran presence, plays the body and of course, a cup winner. Someone like him could have really helped the team out during our finals since Sammy was out.
