Rather us finish first in the conference/league so we have home ice throughout.

Mike Oxbig 03-06-2012 08:40 PM

canucks just throwing the game so they dont have to play the stars just how the hawks threw the game tonight so they wont be in the 4th & 5th seed headache

civicyvr 03-06-2012 08:40 PM

Whole team played poorly. D looked confused. Not much spark in the O. Gotta break this trend. Long home stand to work shit out...and soon.

TRDood 03-06-2012 08:40 PM

Educate me here with the standings. In the NHL does the top 3 teams in respective divisions rank as top 3 seeds? This is very absurd compared to the NBA. I still don't understand playing 6-8 games a year within your division and often times play nothing against eastern teams. This does NOT reflect each team's abilities against the league overall.

burrows had a horrible game today as well as the sedins. its time to give that line another shake up to get them going.

Yes. I agree it's weird that a division leader can be seeded higher than another team with more points. But if it didn't work this way, then there would be no point to have divisions at all.

I haven't seen Raymond or Malholtra win the Hart or Art Ross, so until then, I won't bash the Sedins.

"Slumps" like these usually mean hot streaks right after...unless you're Scott Gomez.

Malhotra plays a different role. Has a Sedin ever been considered a Selke candidate? Do they hit? Do they kill penalties? Do they take crucial faceoffs for us in the defensive zone?

I understand they're great players, but they've been playing horribly.

What's the point of divisions if you have a 3rd seed team with 75 points and the 9th team to have 80 points, yet the 80 point team does not make the playoffs? :fulloffuck:

Hockey is fun to watch but their traditions and rules really boggle my mind.

Like the other guy said then there would be no point in having divisions. You have to give teams a reason to win their division and get home ice.

OGCStrike 03-06-2012 09:02 PM

tbh i wud only get mad if we dont get the stanley cup this year. Regular season doesnt even matter imo as long as we got a playoff spot, then good to go.:fuckyea:

thats how i usually view, i try to not let it bother me too much haha but then i realize that our slumping team's play might carry over to the playoffs and dick us over. :rukidding:

I find it funny how you mention Malholtra's pros, but not Raymond's :lol

Everyone on the Canucks plays a specific role. The Sedin's aren't used for those roles you mentioned. The same can also be said for Malholtra/Raymond. Has either ever been considered a Hart candidate? Can either score [more than 20 goals] multiple seasons? Can either play on the powerplay efficiently? Can either take faceoffs in the offensive zone and make an impact?

It's comparing apples to oranges.

The only time you should be REALLY worried is the Sedin's being "invisible" in the playoffs for when it "really matters". The Canucks are guaranteed to finish top 3 with 15~ games remaining. I'm sure they'll find their game

spoon.ek9 03-06-2012 09:10 PM

We haven't been generating a whole lot of grade A scoring chances and its becoming quite troublesome. I stand by my comment that I'm not as confident this year. I would love more than anything to be dead wrong.

haha happens to me too, cuz its so frustrating to watch them play like crap when we know they can do a lot better :fulloffuck:

Yeah, I got a bit of a look at those titties of the blonde sitting behind the Dallas bench. The best eye candy out of the entire game.

Where is the Canuck killer instinct? Mental mistakes in their own zone. Two on one chances given to Dallas. Where is the power in the powerplay?

The PP is becoming too predictable. They gotta stop doing the back pass in the neutral zone on the breakouts during the PP. Canucks need a new look on the powerplay. How about putting Kassian in front of the net on the PP?

X2.

I was at the game tonight, fuck the team looked bad. Ridiculous amount of turnovers, odd man rushes, etc. Getting a little worried after the past couple weeks.
