Tanev looks ready for primetime. Cody Hodgson may or may not be traded, but it won't be for a bag of pucks. His career has been injury plauged and does not have much under his belt. Look at the time it took for Kesler, Logan Couture, JVR to develop

Very interesting read on the possibility of a large trade and I'd have to agree. The Canucks won't come one win away from the Cup and take a step backward the next year, which I think everyone would agree that, so far, they have.
To be honest, the Bruins took it to us. Introduce as many variables (excuses) as you want, that's the truth. I'm sure MG saw a few holes that need to be addressed this season if we want a chance to return to the Final. I could definitely see a blockbuster coming down the pipe and we have some prospects to make one happen. As someone mentioned earlier, thats how Iggy made his way to Calgary.

babchuk signed
if langunnbrunner dont sign, fuck this team... and let's wait another 17years. Unless MG pulls a FEW solid trade before the regular season.
MG's plan on defence is to average 200 pts in the back end with players who can play defensively.

I don't wanna say MG is sleepin on the good players, but damn. I know you gotta build up the AHL, but it's time to focus on the big team. Babchuk would've been a good fit here IMO.
I don't care what anyone says..right now our D is weaker without Ehrhoff. Our forwards lost a lot of gritt too.

Marchand looked like Lemieux at times out there

I don't think we were necessarily outplayed...by the time we got to the finals, injuries caught up with the team.
I'd say it'd be a different series if we had a healthy roster + Samuelsson, Hamhuis not being injured in game 2 and Rome not being suspended for 4 freaking games

Non-suspended Rome means non-injured Horton, then again, if Hamhuis wasn't injured, it would have been an even better series

i can't be the only one who feels the coaching on our side was lacking during the final. boston neutralized our attack and there was no response to that. the pinching D was no longer able to keep any pressure at all because all boston needed to do was throw the puck to the middle where they would have support and the puck would be out of their zone within seconds. and yet, our attack didn't seem to change at all despite this.
i'd argue that we were out coached in both the chicago series and the boston series. the chicago series is because we shouldn't have needed 7 games to defeat a team that was but a shadow of it's former self.

while I don't really want to reflect on our series w Boston cuz it hurts too much, I can't help but still believe that we were up against the Bruins, refs, and the league for those seven games; and we came within one game of beating them all

Your starting to sound like a whiny bandwagoner
yea keep repping your canucks pride with your replica jersey
if you have no faith in the team and management then go cheer for another team

We were 1 win away from the cup and we dont need huge adjustments at all
and its not about faith its what the team can deliver on the ice.

MG's plan on defence is to average 200 pts in the back end with players who can play defensively. | Not sure how well Jamie is speedwise and his ability to be 2 way, but he is not the have all and end all of all FA's out there.
And injured bodies come with playoff hockey guys...and you dont think any bruins were injured? And to think they did all this without Savard

| I don't buy that as an excuse. For a team that was supposed to (at least according to ALL the local media) have had such huge depth.
Boston took the boots to us, plain and simple. Once they figured us out, it was over.

Tim Thomas seemed to have gotten in a lot of our players heads and I think that was one of the factors too.

Big names moving around does not equal huge improvements to teams. Remember when Calgary made a ton of big signings and then missed the playoffs? twice?

Blown away that the Flames have 12 players with some kind of no trade or no movement clause...so even if they're terrible, they have no choice but to stick with what they've built.
Even the Canucks only have 7 players with NTCs.
