So not only does Schneider have to stop the puck, you expect him to score goals too, eh?

SkinnyPupp 03-21-2012 09:08 AM

Jimmy Howard out again. If he doesn't get his shit fixed, the Wings aren't going to make it very far

nope!

after boston, all the teams they play are in contention for that final 3 playoff spot

but ultimately, the kings and coyotes have games against teams outside of contention..

the kings are scary. 5 in a row, and popped in 42g after Jeff Carter trade

The organ in the old building and the way it was situated, reminded me of the phantom of the opera (original film). And also, for some weird reason, a rape dungeon. Dark, scary place.

Other old but not forgotten buildings......

Kings is scary because Quick is one underrated goalie. The way he stops pucks is impossibru.

I wonder if Malkin 'gave the keys' to the Pens back to Sid when he came back. "Hey bro, I've carried the team this far. Let's get this done. Fist bump"

So who's watching Panther games? How are they so good this season?

I think its been a combination of them over-achieving and teams in their division under-achieving--mainly Tampa and Washington. Tampa were 46-25-11 last season and 32-33-7 this season, while Washington 48-23-11 last season and 37-30-6 this season. Panthers are 31-17-10 playing vs. Eastern teams this season, while only 5-6-3 playing vs. Western teams. Yzerman looked like a genius when Tampa owned last year, and although I think they should be better than their record shows this year, they have fallen back to earth riding on sub-par goaltending. Similar situation to Anaheim last year where Perry went on a tear in the second half and willed them into the playoffs. And this year they have fallen back to earth.

Chicago pre-Kane/Toews/Sharp was pretty sad though. You could get a ticket the day of the game for $15, and the building and crowd were pretty dead. This wasn't that long ago, like 2005

No idea why the Kings were as poor offensively as they were prior to the trade. They had the personnel to put the puck in the net, but it just wasn't happening for whatever reason. They were under-achieving for much of the season, and now they are back up to where they should be.

Tampa's building has a really cool organ setup as well. Much more friendly looking than a dungeon too.

well technically they control their own destiny with that schedule, but realistically after watching them play the last 2 nights where half the team doens't seem to give a fuck, I'm gon agree, I think its going to be LA that takes the division with Quick, and Dallas getting in as well with Sharks and Yotes missing.

Tim Budong 03-21-2012 10:15 AM

Malkin is HART WINNER for sure
but can Malkin hit 50g in 10 games? better yet, can he surpass stamkos

The playmaking wonder machine in Sidney Crosby certainly makes that very possible. 5goals in 4 games for Malkin since sidney makes his return

scary depth

People seem to expect goals from Lu..

And a BIG lol @ manny being a healthy scratch yet again, so that's what? 2 times in the past 6 games?

And on the mid-day show today sekeres and price both agreed that from this point on manny will not be a full-timer in the lineup, will not play a significant role in the playoffs, and has never been even a shadow of his former self since the eye injury

WEIRD! Didn't see that coming, but oh yea, I forgot how "valuable" his face off ability is.. :/

People expect Lu to not let in horrible goals and to avoid his notorious meltdowns. Is that so unreasonable?

RiceIntegraRS 03-21-2012 11:54 AM

With Luongo he does let in a softie or 2, and sometimes the other 2 goals arent his fault at all. But that still 3-4 goals thats being let in. Its realy hard to win games having to score 4+. Luongo is on a short leash with fans and even 1 bad goal he lets in will automatically be his fault if we lose the game even if hes left out to dry by the defense.

UFO 03-21-2012 12:09 PM

So, Mayray over Manny?

Come playoff time, I don't know what role Mayray will have either if last game's healthy scratch doesn't kick his ass into gear. AV knows what AMEX brings, slots Mayray there to give him a chance to succeed offensively and if he is still unresponsive in the next 2-3 games he's up in the press box. There are tougher grindier heartier players waiting to get into the lineup on our bottom 6. Kassian has been given a rather long leash too. He started off with 2 great games but has since tried to be more the finese player than the tough grinding big body we need him to be right now. I would say its pretty safe our top 2 lines are pretty much set in stone, but the bottom 2 lines can have so many different looks.

Please quote because nobody ever said that but you on Schneider. Stop making fake counter-arguments from us that you can easily revert to and argue.

It's not just reasonable, it's expected. Mostly because he was asking for the lions share of the franchise salary.

And to be honest, this isn't just a Luongo thing. It's an, anybody with a big contract thing. You want a big contract, that means you're taking on the expectations that come along with it. Look around the league and there's similar debates regarding value and return over big names contracts as well. ie. Nash, Ovechkin, etc.
