Hansen will get something like $1.3-1.5. $2m is way too much for him, really but I don't expect the Canucks to walk away unless it's ridiculous. A 50% raise is about right. He's a 3rd line checking wing...$2m would put him too close to MayRay and Samuelsson who have 20-30 more points than him.

No, it would be an insult to Selanne. Why downgrade? Anaheim > Winnipeg.

Some players like finishing off their careers with the team that drafted them so I don't think it wud be an insult to Selanne as you said.

First of all, it would be his choice to sign with the Jets if he wants so I don't think he would be insulted to play for them lol.

He's won the cup already.

Though, I wanted to see Kariya and Selanne again with the ducks but too bad he retired

Selanne has already gone on record he has no interest in signing with the Jets or any other NHL team, its either Anaheim or retirement. He considers himself a Duck only and absolutely loves living in California.

all he has to argue in arbitration is marco sturm contract and it will help him get a contract closer to 2mil. unfortunately burrows contract has no input on the decision because burrows said he was taking a home town discount.

If they take those into account, why don't take into account the fact that good players get overpaid BECAUSE the team is trying to lure them in.

It seems the arbitration system is flawed if they only take one side of the spectrum.

i know, its inevitable that people on RS will be like this
just wished it would maybe get a little better.....

Konopka is off the market. I was hoping the Canucks would get him for some size and grit.

Plus he's another top-5 NHL faceoff man.

Manny (61.7%) + Konopka (57.7%) + Kes (57.4%) + Henrik (52.0%) = puck possession ownage off the draw.

Lapierre is 46%.

Maybe for the fucking idiots but some of the guys that really know hockey and how the game works haven't changed their story with each win or loss.

Only the bandwagoners and retards change their tone every time the Canucks play.

Win = I LOVE THE CANUCKS!!!!

Loss = TRADE AND FIRE EVERYONE

People on here were bashing MG last season for not making any moves?
Didn't he make 3 significant signings last year on July 1st?

Ville leino got $4.5M for one 50 point season. Considering that burr has 3 ~50 point seasons + his 2 way play, he would've gotten huge money had he been a ufa this season.

i like how hardly anyone here cared about kaberle signing. i also like the fact that boston wanted nothing to do with him after winning the cup lol.

Not really a fair comparison. Burr signed his contract when the salary cap was $10m lower so naturally, his salary is less than the stupid ones signed these days where even marginal players get millions. I would've loved to get Leino on the Canucks but no way in hell for $4.5 million.

Burr is worth about $3m, I'd say but not much more. He'd be worth $4m on a short term deal but around $3m for a longer term. $4.5m would put him way too close to Kesler's salary, which is looking like an ABSOLUTE STEAL now at $5m for a 40-goal Selke winner.
