Sounds like a possible jaw issue as he had an x-ray done. Don't think its a concussion as they wouldn't dare let him start the next shift if it was a concussion issue. Hoping it isn't anyways.

Providing Daniel comes back for the playoffs, this hit might be the best thing for the Canucks. I'm sure everyone remembers what happened the last time Daniel was out for an extended period of time. Henrik was forced to change his game - he had to cycle less and shoot & attack the net and it made him much more effective and dangerous, especially when Daniel came back. Fast forward to this year and it seems like they have fallen back to their old habits. I sincerely hope this injury is a blessing in disguise.

I wouldn't be surprised if Keith gets 1 or 2 games because he has a clean record.

The Canucks played with intensity last night, but it just doesn't seem like they have the horses to get through a long spring. I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel is gone for the rest of the regular season.

according to the team 1040 daniel has been sent back to Vancouver for more tests with a specialist

When do we get to know if keith gets suspended or not?

Keith is scheduled for a phone hearing, not an in person hearing, so whatever suspension he gets cannot be more than 5 games. I think it should be sometime today for the hearing

the second sad truth to be made. Chicago could have a well rested Keith for hte playoffs if he gets the 5. Well, whats better, a well rested norris winner or a tired one.

What the hell happened to clean but physical hockey? The blatant elbows to the head with 3 game suspensions are ridiculous. Wish the NFL was running this league.

60,000 people + 20,000 from the home games + usually bar crowd = 100,000 + people spilling onto the streets all at once and they will all eventually converge onto Granville Street.
You’re inside. There is just something great about a public outdoor viewing party that can’t be matched inside a cavernous stadium.
The element of a riot is still there as people spill onto the streets afterwards.
The city also is looking into creating a number of small neighbourhood-based celebration sites. This could work if you shut down certain streets, say Main Street, Commercial, 4th Avenue. However, people need to get to the games so most likely screens will be set up in public parks and not on the streets.

Not sure how this will fly over with residents and party goers alike. The fact of the matter is people want to soak up the atmosphere and nothing beats downtown Vancouver during the playoffs. Surrey tried with their Central City viewing parties last year and if we all remember the screen shots from the CBC it looked pretty dead. That may change this year, who knows.

If the Canucks don’t start playing better all of this won’t even matter.

I quite enjoyed the olympics at edge water. And I assume playoffs at bc place to be just as awesome.

I doubt riots will be an issue this year just because of what happened last year.

NFL has taken a hard stand on head shots and intentionally injuring stars of the game. Look at what happened yesterday.

The TSN panel mentioned yesterday that Rene Bourque got 5 games for his elbow to Backstrom but Backstrom has missed 41 games and counting. Look at Crosby. All it could take is one more headshot and his career could be done.

The instigator rule sucks, but playing 11 forwards and playing a guy 4 minutes a game to fight doesn't make sense either.
