AV seems like a coach the guys want to play for. I like that he's calm most of the time and that he plays players that deserve more ice time.
Sure, we might not agree with his calls (CoHo, Ballard ice time...Rome...MayRay...) but there's a reason he's the coach and we're not...and he's usually right.

First time I see AV jump for joy when the Canucks score an OT winner or tying goal in regulation.

watching that brawl made me think...and remember one canucks game late in the season against edmonton i think. this was a couple years ago though before henrik and daniel emerged as stars
there were brawls all throughout the late stages of the game i remember. people afterwards said how it brought the team that much closer. it really shows when they stick up for eachother
bertuzzi for example. him jumping moore was not the first time he stuck up for a teammate. think it was morrison who he also stuck up for, and jumped another player (maybe because he refused to fight too?) obviously it didnt get as much notoriety as the Moore incident. granted it also may have not been the wisest move to say the least, but you can see how deep his loyalties lie
so obviously everyteam wants a skilled player who can stickup for themselves and their teammates. Boston personified this the best last year sadly.
Most of our fighters are not top tier guys unfortunately (minus Bieksa). Kesler has a godzilla sized heart but he doesnt drop the gloves too often. In game 7 of the SCF, and with less than 10 minutes left down 4-0 or whatever the landslide was...there was Kesler blazing at full speed on the ice trying to hit everything in his path. he knew it was over, but he was fucking pissed. He was crying his eyes out at the end and so was i

In the SCF the Canucks could of easily stuck up for one another, we basically have all the same players this year as we did last year but they were trying to play it smart.
Dirty Hit + No Retaliation = Powerplay
Cause they knew
Dirty Hit + Retaliation = Offsetting Penalties
Too bad The League didnt tell the Canucks they changed that rule for a series.
at least when keith elbowed daniel sedin, our team showed a response
at the point of the game, and at this point of the season, it doesnt matter if we would have won or lost that game. take a penalty or two. get the point across
you may lose the battle, but you want to win the war yadi yada
