lol, "blood, sweat, and tears" is the same thing as "heart"...

Fuck, that Schneider is good. Some really, really good, genuine saves. None of this "it hit him in the crest", or "it went into the glove that happened to be there".

It looks like this guy is for real.

cliffhanger33 03-28-2012 08:43 PM

SHHHHHH

No mental breakdowns yet either

I edited my post, I don't think they 'suck' that's the wrong term to use. But this lack of scoring is still a very big issue. One short handed goal, and a fluke Manny Malhotra goal are not something to be excited about, and it's a damn good thing they have 2 amazing goaltenders

pastarocket 03-28-2012 08:47 PM

Thank goodness for Corey. Well deserved shutout for Schneider!

He was in good position to make many spectacular saves tonight.

Corey is gonna be a good no. 1 goalie for a team one day. As a restricted free agent this summer, he's likely to be traded by the Canucks.

spideyv2 03-28-2012 08:47 PM

I would expect things to change in the playoffs. The powerplay looks horrible.

b0unce. [?] 03-28-2012 08:47 PM

Reflecting on the trades and signing that MG has brought us, I'm just amazed at how smart he is.

Higgins, Booth, Lappy, Manny, Pahlsson have been absolutely stellar.

Hard working and checking guys. LOVE IT.

MG1 03-28-2012 08:47 PM

Hahaha......

Sami Salo looks like he was born with a hockey helmet. His forehead is........ you can paint it blue and think he had a helmet on. There's his forehead then the rest of the face is like sunken in.

DanHibiki 03-28-2012 08:48 PM

I think burr needs to go back with henrik. He's the only person after Daniel that has chemistry with henrik.

Not like the 2nd line is doing anything together anyway.

if you play a tight defensive game in the playoffs and get good goaltending, the prospects to win a 7 game series are pretty good..

they just need to bury some more chances

jeedee 03-28-2012 08:49 PM

I'm more concerned with the powerplay than overall scoring. Henrik said it himself something along the lines of "don't expect blowout games from us. We want to play a tight game and capitalize on the opponents mistakes"

Seems like the 2nd line is actually you're first, I actually see Henrik's line as 2b or even 3rd. It's a good balanced depth for checking.

SupraMan604 03-28-2012 08:53 PM

I hope Cory gets to play more during the playoffs this was a great game he played.

I have more confidence in Cory than LU :accepted:

cliffhanger33 03-28-2012 08:54 PM

Cory was like "Sorry guys, if our games aren't entertaining. We want to keep it tight"

Schh is a beast, number 1 goalie in the NHL so far apparently?

Where are you getting your stats from ....

Elliot leads the league in save percentage with 0.943....Schneider is 2nd with 0.934

Not to AV:rukidding:

SkinnyPupp 03-28-2012 09:04 PM

That's the thing about a team that is built for the powerplay.. when the PP goes down, there goes most of their scoring... :heckno:

sonick 03-28-2012 09:05 PM

I thought Schneider was gonna try for the empty net goal lol

Hondaracer 03-28-2012 09:12 PM

imo i dont think Corey is a better goalie than Lu technically

the advantage he is is the seemingly "calming" effect he has

lets be real, outside of the Boston game he's never really played a big time game and come out of it on the winning end

You know, I have honestly been waiting for even a moment of chaos from this guy and nothing!
He's solid right now. He always manages to refocus and refrain from sinking into that slump that Lu seems to hit whenever he's let a bad one in. Completely unbelievable.

Can someone please translate this into English for me?
...I get what you are saying, but seriously...............

Anyway, I agree; Schneider doesn't have very much big-game experience; I do recall him getting game 6 in the Chicago series and he ended up getting pulled. There simply isn't that great of a sample size for me to be able to put full trust into Schneider, but I obviously like him as relief to Luongo...I only hope that we can use Schneider in the playoffs to give Luongo some rest, because obviously they are more like 1A and 1B right now.
