Anyone hit up the Kirk McLean signing today? Finally got the other half of the Linden/Kirk picture signed. Picked up Canucks McFarlanes for cheap too they were basically all priced at 15 which is even cheaper then if you were lucky to find it in stores.

Each of the last few years has been exactly the same. A few changes in the summer. Decent pre-season.
For the Leafs, it's a super strong first quarter...usually leading the division if not the conference or league. Then mediocre middle and downright BAD at the end. This year, they managed to get themselves sucking enough to get a high draft pick but they usually suck just enough to land outside the top 10 of the draft. This year, they're so close to the bottom of the league but somehow managed to make it in the 5th spot...and you can't get the 1st overall pick from 5th last because you can only move up 4 spots if you win the draft lottery. AMAZING, LEAFS. You always manage to suck the exact right amount to maximize how terrible your franchise is.
The Flames? Mediocre all the way through the year then a strong push with 2 months left and complete collapse at the end. Sound about right?
Both teams need to be blown up to stock the farms. There's no other move that will fix how bad they are.
Anyone watching this Pittsburgh/Flyers game? Line brawl and Laviolette and one of the Penguins coaches were chirping, both got tossed. This may be an unreal playoff series.

I think MG said it the best when he mentioned that most playoff teams have a tough time wrapping up the season with wins because their mind is focused for the post season.
for the redwings i dont know if they rather go for 4th (home ice) or move to 6 and face LA/DAL/SJ?

Detroit fans hate matching up with San Jose...
Todd McLellan was Detroit's assistant coach from 2005 to 2008...In 2008, he won the Stanley Cup with Detroit. After that season, San Jose "stole" him from Detroit and signed him to be their head coach. San Jose has knocked Detroit out of the playoffs for the last 2 years...
