yeah that play by clowe was absurd, I'm actually more mad at how stupid he was for trying, I mean what were the odds all the refs would miss that ? I mean yeah obviously now everyone bleeding teal is going to be like oh what a hero clowe was blah blah, but if he got caught which I fully had expected him to have been, thats another 5 on 3 for the kings and I probably woulda had a heart attack like a hour ago lol.

Yeah I don't get that either. I mean there's 4 of them, and it's not like the incident in question occurred away from the play; it was THE play.

SkinnyPupp 04-05-2012 10:59 PM

You could have done a much better job lol... Appreciate the attempt though :D

Added to the fact that Cory has proven himself in some big games vs tough opponents, we know our goaltending will be solid should Lu struggle at some point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall many maintenance games last year either. I also have a sneaky feeling that Daniel is more ready than the organization will admit.

The Canucks took last year as a learning experience and are seemingly more prepared for the grind. Like I said, I'm not as confident as I was last year but we're still a very strong contender and I very much like our chances.

GO NUCKS!!!!

I believe the PP turns it around in the playoffs. Losing Ehrhoff hurts, but the PP was head and shoulders above everybody else for the first half of this season even without Ehrhoff.

IMO we (I'm going to include the fans and the team) had perhaps too much swagger and cockiness going into the playoffs last year, could be a reason why the team and fans were perceived by many to be most hated on in the league. Although we made it all the way to the finals, many felt that there was no way we wouldn't make it, and when we lost game 7 it was a huge let down because we couldn't live up to the hype.

This season, there is not the same level of cockiness. The fans are too emotionally invested from last year's run as well as this year's regular season and what we saw last year as fan arrogance is now this year fan concern. But I believe all is well in the room. The brass has done well to build the team to better endure the prospect of a long run. The team is playing less flashy and more close games that you typically see when games matter. But ultimately I believe they all know once the playoffs start, its anybody's game. Doesn't matter if you just squeak into the playoff or won the President's trophy by 10pts. You take it a game and a series at a time and with some puck luck, you get to hoist the ultimate prize.

This has probably been posted already, but who has the tie breaker between the Canucks and the Rangers?

fliptuner 04-06-2012 09:31 AM

NYR. We have to win by a game.

b0unce. [?] 04-06-2012 09:33 AM

yeah i think nyr has more wins. didn't actually check though.

GrapeDrink 04-06-2012 09:33 AM

I know everyone would love to see the blues lose tonight, but man if they beat the yotes, it would sure set up a very very interesting last night of hockey. Assuming they beat the yotes in regulation anyways. Chi-Det kicks it off a battle for the #5 seed, then blues and nucks duke it out for the #1 seed, too bad they are not actually playing each other, that woulda been quite interesting. Then to end the night off we would have SJ-LA for the division title. I beleive washington/florida can also flip flop for the divisionbut fuck the east lol.

Tortorella gives some of the best post game interviews and rants ever. Thumbs up to John for his scathing comments on the Penguins.

-lost a great deal of respect for Crosby, their coach, and the Penguins organization after all the whining, crosschecking on Flyers players, and the cheap, dirty knee on knee hit by Orpik on Stepan. Stop whining Sid!

Smart move by Bylsma to send his goon line, a line that didn't play for twelve minutes, when his team was losing 6-3 to Philly last week. Real smart Bylsma!

Shanahan, I hope you throw the book at Orpik and give him a big suspension that includes playoff games.

Tortorella is correct. He's spot on about the state of the league. What happened to RESPECT among NHL players? We see headshots, blind side hits, knee on knee hits.

Players can play football with the hard foam padding that they wear these days.

Here's Tort's post game rant. One of the best ever.

Posted on twitter, they said only the 2 refs can call that play and both missed it. The linesmen cannot blow the play down even if they saw it.

Rangers have like 5 or 6 more ROW's than us. We have to beat them by at least a single point in order to get the PT.

Hiller's making a push to get on EA's cover for NHL13

How is the president's trophy a playoff achievement? I guess the flames the miss the playoffs YET again. And probably for the next two more years as they blow up your team next year. LOL :lawl:

I think I'm getting overly emotionally invested much earlier this year. Like I said a couple of weeks ago. This moment (next playoffs) I've been waiting for for a year.

I know I'm just a fan, but it's felt like an unfinished business of mine that's been hanging all year long.

This was the Canucks' game to lose, and they did. Going to be tough to win the Presidents trophy now and we definitely want to win the conference because I sure as hell would like to avoid playing the Blues in their own barn. 30-5-5 compared to 18-16-6 on the road. :fuckthatshit:

I'm just glad Schneider was in net so it couldn't be blamed on Lu like it would have been.

Feel the same as you guys.

I am sure now that MAG is locked in as a RFA, we'll have a better look at our true D line up. Need to work on the PP for sure. Still miss Hodgy for secondary scoring.

Fun fact.

Not sure about the current Flames roster, but Hank and Daniel and Sammy Pahlsson also have gold medals from 2006 as part of team Sweden.
