If the Penguins are ever close to closing out a series, don't be surprised if Crosby suffers serious brain damage...and I'm not exaggerating.

BTW, I just found out how they make the decisions for suspensions/fines:

lol anybody else have smart-asses on their Facebook snarkily making fun of fans who post status updates about the Canucks and playoffs.

It's Vancouver, what the fuck do you expect?

The same smart-asses who make fun of people who post status updates about snow when it snows in Vancouver.

This is all that should have been needed to hand down a suspension. All the rest of the explanation was mumbo jumbo

Suspending on the action and not the outcome is really not that difficult. I don't know why GM's are so opposed to changing the way things are done right now. There is enough grey and interpretation written into the rules where the head has to be the 'principle' and intended point of contact to prevent every hit involving the head from becoming a suspension.

MR_BIGGS 04-12-2012 12:26 PM

The NFL does it right. Their commissioner, Roger Goddell lays out the pimp hand strong when players and teams do something reckless and irresponsible. The stars in the NFL are protected by the rules that govern their sport for the most part and when those rules are broken, discipline is harsh and a message is sent. You think teams are going to do what New Orleans did and get away with it in the future? Their coach is suspended for one year.

Never from an NFL fan have I heard, “damn he will probably get off easier, he is their franchise player.” It is always more on the lines of “He made a stupid play and he’s going to get made an example of.”

It has to be the same with the NHL, and it isn’t.

And way to lobby for a suspension Detroit. Make it known after the NHL made its decision that Zetterberg’s helmet cracked.

AzNightmare 04-12-2012 12:50 PM

Wow... $2500 fine for a guy that gets paid $7,500,000.

I say that's open invitation to smash every player's head into the glass.
He could do it 3000x more before he breaks even.

Gh0stRider 04-12-2012 12:51 PM

i think weber should get bertuzzi'd

Simple: don't have friends that don't like hockey.

"Not giving a player a suspension because the opposing player wasn't injured is like letting a drunk driver continue on down the road because he hasn't hit anybody yet. What the fuck happened to preventative measures?"

Sentinel 04-12-2012 12:57 PM

It's stupid how some players get away with a simple to little punishment.

Weber gets fined $2,500.

Last year Chara broke Pacioretty's neck and got nothing. This year Lucic runs over Miller, nothing.

Asham does that "go to sleep gesture" after a fight and gets suspended/fined.

When I saw Weber do that I couldn't believe it. How that wasn't a suspension...

Those cocky Kings trash talking on Twitter, eh? Those losers forget that it's a seven game series:

@LAKings

To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome.

The team will come out firing on all cylinders, and play with controlled aggression on Friday.

Coach AV should put that tweet on a bulletin board in the dressing room to help fire up the team. -use the Kings' Tweet against them.

It's gonna be a unlucky Friday the 13th for those LA Queens.

I still stand by my prediction for this series. Canucks win in SEVEN games.
Believe!

I have a bet for Fridays game with an American buddy. A Texas Mickey that the Canucks are going to win.... and I have full confidence in them!!!

Shannon is fucking terrible at his job. Worst disciplinary body in pro sports at the moment. The inconsistency is unbelievable and embarrassing.

Also, Kesler needs to shut the fuck up and play the game. Leave the diving to soccer phaggots. For a big strong power forward he's been playing like a royal pussy this season. FIGHT THE GUY or keep after the puck. Enough chirping and diving, it's pathetic.

spideyv2 04-12-2012 01:30 PM

Kesler wishes he was a power forward

Getzlaf, Hartnell, Lucic, Horton, Bertuzzi..those guys are power forwards

If you're a star: slap on the wrist.

If you're a fourth liner: suspension.

spoon.ek9 04-12-2012 01:58 PM

Whoever has twitter should tweet Weber saying how embarassed you are that he's from BC. He said the same after the riot, it's only fair ;)

To put this into perspective, I saw a comment saying that a $2500 fine to Weber is like a guy making $70k annually, getting fined for $23 - less than a parking ticket!
