BUN BO HUE SHOWDOWN!

FlyNvBaller 07-27-2011 05:47 PM

I don't think Song Huong's bun is good at all... the last time i tried it but it was a few years ago.

Cafe Xu Hue bun bo hue is really tasty. Honestly it tastes completely different than ours but i definitely enjoyed it. I'm easily pleased when it comes to food so my opinion is useless.

is the bun bo hue and bun bo tai broth the same? i found the bun bo tai broth not salty enough last time i had it and a little too light in flavor. might be the lack of MSG other places usually use? :okay:

Bun bo hue @ Cafe Xu Hue is amazing

Hmm, funny you should mention that. I had the bun bo tai the other day and it was a tad bit less flavorful compared to the first time I had it. I still enjoyed it though.

A few of my friends seem to love this place.. probably because of the attractive waitress.

I've been here a few times with them just for the sake of hanging out.. but to be honest, the food is so-so. It's not bad, but it's not great.

Though it is a refreshing change from the other few Vietnamese restaurants I usually go to.

Can't please everyone.... :okay:

Haha it's still pretty good! Just not my #1 choice. I still come maybe every couple weeks.

Out of curiosity, do you guys purposely make the broths a bit lighter? Like I said, it's a refreshing change from the other couple places I frequent. :fullofwin:

FlyNvBaller 07-30-2011 11:29 PM

wow what a busy day today.

it's so hot in the restaurant, dunno how you guys can stand it lol... everyone literally sweating like crazy while eating.

David, I don't really know how to cook lol.. i just know how to do food prep.

Alphamale came in, had to wait a little bit, a family with kids almost stole their table but i told my sister to make sure they don't steel Alphamale's table lol.

dbaz, saw you on Friday, that was a super hot day holy crap how can you wear a canucks jersey?

Eatman or 2NR, didn't really finish our conversation today but ya, if you have any questions about VIHL or starting out hockey don't hesitate to ask. How was the Avacado shake? I put a lot of condense milk in it lol

Alphamale 07-30-2011 11:36 PM

^HOLY SHIT. You're pretty observant.

I was about to lay the smack down on those kids for stealing my table. Bunch of rotten cock sucking useless fuckers. No manners at all.

Typically, the only reason why it's lighter or not lighter depends on the amount of Satay sauce we put in when we serve you. It's the same Satay sauce on each table that you can throw in yourself. If we put more on before we serve you the stronger and darker the broth. Most people can't take too much so we put a general amount and you guys can add as you please.
Unless you mean something else by lighter...

Treyeats, one of the worse blogs we had, she mentioned our broth wasn't even spicy at all when it's called a spicy soup...... Kinda snotty cause you can always add more spice.....typical woman
