agreed that the pho is average, but numbers 1-4 is where the money's at.

and whatever number the shrimp spring rolls are, 17?

Drow 08-13-2011 09:09 PM

#1 + #2 arent that great for me, i prefer me some bun bo hue. and other variables factor in too.

keifun 08-14-2011 03:18 PM

went there today for lunch with two lady friends

I think I saw FlyNvBaller in the kitchen. (tall skinny asian dude with glasses?)

The "younger sister" server was really nice and polite. Ordered a large #9. Tasted alright, soup was decent. Friend had the salad roll that was good too.

Ronin 08-14-2011 04:34 PM

Hey FlyNvBaller,

Can I ask why you guys make a more Chinese dim sum style spring roll instead of the round, deep fried ones we usually see at Vietnamese restaurants?

I tried pointing that out yet RS loves to back their shit up saying, nah man its this and this therefore its still a solid pho

Its like they never had a decent phos else where other than pho hoa

Their no.1 and 2 is pretty unique, i like it, springs rolls are something special that you dont see at every viet place.

However pho wise? i seriously think its .............3-4/10

over hyped at its best

bcrdukes 08-14-2011 07:09 PM

LOL!

I'm not sure about you but when people make some kind of statement, it is normally backed up with facts and/or their findings. Credibility also helps.

Not that I care or anything but I would like to know what or where you consider as 10/10 pho. Or better yet, anything over a 5/10 rating for pho. I've followed this thread since the day I created it - I don't see where the "hype" is. If anything, personal opinions were shared and we can all agree, the #2 or RS Special is by far, the most popular dish.

guddagudd 08-14-2011 07:37 PM

ANDDDDD^ TO ADD TO THAT

You guys better be talking about Pho Hoa in Vancouver or something, Pho Hoa in Richmond sucks lol

Which waitress were you talking about? Where were you sitting about what time? I'm trying to remember.

When we opened, we made the vietnamese style ones, but more people liked the chinese ones. Easier to make too.... twice less work.

Cool. I expected to see some RSers there but didn't see anyone I recognized. I asked the waitress if FlyNvBaller was there but he was in Vegas.

I don't get why everyone is talking about "hype". Yes, this is probably the most talked about pho place in Vancouver on this board but at the same time, the opinions are honest and there's criticism as well.

I mean, I said straight up I didn't think the appetizers are spectacular but I loved #1 with #2 sauce and how clean the place is. Did you expect to shit unicorns after? It costs $7 and it's fucking pho.

GG 08-15-2011 07:28 AM

^

yes i do admit their 1 and 2 is pretty damn good

however pho is blend as hell man

the pho on kinsway beside mazda dealership or in front of white spot/old wendys?

forgot the name, or the one in surrey pho vin has way better pho, and i mean way better.

I know my pho, i aint asking for 3 cups of MSG like pho hoa in my soup.
