Or can't you just citizen's arrest his ass on the spot for possession of stolen property? Tell him you'll meet up, bring payment for the phone. But bring your buddies too and have them hid in the bushes. Jump him, pin him down, and truss him up like a little piggy then call the cops on his ass.
They cops will probably make you let him go. But You'll have your phone back, and it doesn't sound like you wanna press charges anyways.
Problem solved. Rightful property to rightful owner, and that douchebag gets the scare of his life.
^Lol can they charge him for assault for doing that?
Anyways I'm pretty sure the other guy obviously didn't know it was stolen when he bought it. Think about all the people selling iPhone 4s without boxes on craigslist and stuff, same thing there.
Sucks though, hope you're able to get your phone back OP.
so is the phone still being tracked or dead by now?
this is interesting I want to know the outcome.
dont we hear this story often through the viral news blog though ie: mashable, gizmodo, reddit and such. what did they do? I guest most of that story is in the state though...
we have police here in the forum maybe they can help. or use the social media to help make this thread go viral. email to local news crew. get a lot of attention maybe some lawyer / someone know their area will step in and help
I remember reading the story of chinese grocery store in toronto , citizen arrest someone stealing plants. he got in trouble because he locked him up in a van. but the store owner won that case in the end.
maybe you can arrest him up in public and call the police (no beating involved).
No the cops haven't called me back yet....but phone can't be tracked anymore. It's still showing as pending message so I am pretty sure it is still locked and not wiped yet.

ERRRRR....so close yet so far.....
Maybe PM a mod in this section to help you out?
Other than skidmark, I'm pretty sure all are still active RCMP/VPD officers.
^ what's the story behind the honda tech clip anyways.
OP: Your phone is long gone man.. Let it go.. It sucks, but the reality is, you aren't getting it back, and the cops aren't going to do anything about it.

guy in the car, is the original owner who got his car stolen. The theft takes the car and trades it to that dumb bitch, with NO PAPERWORKS at all and she accepts. Owner sees his car at a meet, and put his key in ignition and works! bitch Q_______Q's and causes a scene with idiots punching away

he should have called the cops on the spot.. and since all the paperwork is under his name... then he should be good..
Why not setup a meeting close to a police station - have the $450 in hand. Get there early and notify the police of the situation and meeting. they should be able to help you with atleast 1 cop.
If all else fails - take the phone and run to the cop station.

He did call the cops. They're the ones that told him that it was ok to get in the car. Sounds like they were too lazy to come out and hoped the situation would just deal with itself lol.

I have no way to contact the person that has my phone right now. Pretty sure the phone is still locked and under my apple ID so he can't do anything with it. Tracking is down so the phone is probably turned off. Hope he comes to his senses soon and give me my phone back...-__-'
Am sure he feels bad about it because he said he doesn't want me to pay him any money to get my phone back. He wants to find the guy from the flea market and ask that guy for his money back. But what are the chances for that? =\

I'm slightly surprised the new owner did not DFU restore your iPhone. Once that is done, it'll disappear off your radar forever. You can't do anymore MobileMe tracking functions, and the new owner will have a freshly wiped iPhone.
