I can't understand the sheer stupidity of ppl who dont understand anything within the mobility telecom industry This 4S is a device thats catching up to the premium smartphone market. I'm not an iPhone user, neither am I a big fan of the iPhone, but innovation aside, the 4 was out of date within the high end smartphone catalog. what if apple, threw on a 4in screen with the same specs and called it a 4S, i bet u the disappointment from the community would still go ughh, wheres my 5. regardless, All fanboys, haters and the regular phone users aside would still buy into the phone regardless of the name. In the end, the iPhone4S is still a great phone, simple end user experience for EVERYBODY. |

Sin Tat taking max at $20 000 HKD = $2666 CAD Difference: $1716 CAD / unit Total Difference: appx. $34320 CAD / $257 400 HKD You claim: You're expecting at least $250k of profit. So unless you're telling me the shop's willing to only earn a $7000 profit from this shipment... or equivalent of $46 cad per iPhone...gtfo Resident Bullshitter :seriously: |
okay I did some digging around for HK pricing Never burn your bridges when u leave an industry the one "group" within sintat will take 64gb white 4s at roughly 15-7k HKD expected to sell at 20k HKD BUT, these guys already have connections to bring back stock, THE ONLY way they will take your unit..is if you BEAT their shipment that comes back from Canada or where ever... even then.. good luck trying to sell more than 2-3 units the thing is, no one knows how the initial batch will sell. |
haha, called the friend who works at Sin Tat, I asked him to quote two 64gb if arrive on 15th afternoon. He said 13.5K :okay: Hyde, please tell me which store you get your quote from? My dad will leave on Wednesday night to get some stock back. |
The iPhone 4S is a pretty decent upgrade from the 4. Don't know why everyone is hating on it. It's not only about the looks, the upgrades are worth it for sure. |

I even wrote an article on it and at the end of the day. it does not matter to people |

well certainly you can get used to anything but at the end of the day i wouldnt want to carry a phone that big around |
The benchmarks are in and it's looking good for the 4S. Not surprising, since anyone who follows mobile chipsets knows the A5 is damn good, especially in the graphics department (better than Mali, Adreno and Tegra 2). Even underclocked to 800MHz in the 4S still has significantly better graphics than processors running at 1.0 to 1.2GHz. Better yet are the browser benchmarks. iOS 5 now makes the 3GS faster than the 4 was under iOS 4 (37,000 for the 3GS vs 30,000 for the 4). The 4 now climbs to around 51,000 which is a huge increase over iOS 4. Seems like there's more going on in iOS 5 than feature upgrades - there are speed optimizations for the browser as well. AnandTech - iPhone 4S Preliminary Benchmarks: ~800MHz A5, Slightly Slower GPU than iPad 2, Still Very Fast Posted via RS Mobile |
Yup the A5 is a fantastic processor. Add to that that the A4 is a piece of shit, and it looks even better :) |
^ u mad? Posted via RS Mobile |

i cant stand ur apple fanboyism.... and I use a mac myself.... |
^ So posting up facts is now fanboyism? |
didn't scroll through this thread lately, but is Siri going to be usable with the 3GS? |
^to my understanding, its only available for the 4S and in Canada, it will not support maps/directions but will be able to do all the other tasks |
^ I heard you can from the reps at the apple store. My store has 14 of them coming on thursday but no one has come to order them im guessing we are gonna have them on for a while ... |

This is where my argument comes into play. These benchmark results will be good for how long, 2-3 weeks? The iPhone 4S is on top of a phone that has been released for almost a year now...The next big thing from that competitor (Nexus Prime) will surely be on top of the Galaxy S II, iPhone 4S and probably the iPad 2 as well for this category. After that, other devices may or may not catch up but Apple will not be able to improve it's hardware until NEXT year which of course by that time, other companies will have continued to go forwards too. |
^ There's always something faster. However this now presents a catch-22 for iPhone 4 owners. iOS 5 not only brings features, but unlike iOS 4 (which slowed your phone) it appears to be optimized and extracts more from the iPhone 4. This gives iPhone 4 owners some good reasons to keep their phones. However, the 4S is not a minimal upgrade in terms of performance. This also provides a reason to upgrade. There are valid reasons to keep your 4 or get a 4S. Posted via RS Mobile |
I notice the folders open slightly faster than iOS4. |
