Sleeping with a dry cough

Hi guys,

Been fighting off a cold for the past week or so. I have a REALLY tough time sleeping due to a dry cough that seems to escalate when I lie down, and it keeps me up for hours.

I've tried taking benylin cough syrup, two teaspoons of honey before bed, sleeping in an upright position....NOTHING works.

Can anyone suggest something that will straight up knock me out or make me super drowsy? Or at least suppress my cough well enough that I can get some sleep?

Post up whats worked for you. Please and thanks

I find alcohol can dry out my mouth/throat sometimes - which might make matters worse.

Try Buckley's. I find the effect doesn't last long - but might be long enough for you to fall asleep. It really does taste like shit, but it just coats your throat and stops your cough.

neo-citran knocks me out fast too. go see a doctor and ask them for cotridin which has codeine+cough syrup which can also knock you out.

Or play that game that Seth Rogan suggested: "Take 4 Excedrin Nightime and try to masturbate before you fall asleep" from 40-Year-old Virgin

I ended up going to superstore and talking to a pharmacist, she gave me a cough syrup with codeine in it, and she said it should do the trick

Time to finally catch up on some sleep!
