So it looks like I'll be moving to a droid device sooner than expected (either a Nexus 5 or Z1 whenever the sony store offers it unlocked)
Im just looking for some similar type of features with symbian
like the always on screen (sleeping screen) which shows a clock/notifications/pictures (its customizable and you can select as many images as you want they rotate)
I read that Android has something called Daydreams which is essentially the same thing but I read that Daydreams only goes on when the phone is docked/charging (and the only threads i could find discussing this are almost a year old)
Is there anything that's always on in place of a blank standby screen?
There are apps that you can get that will mimic this feature, but you want to be careful what kind of phones you use it on, can be a battery killer if you dont have an AMOLED screen.
Been using mixbit to combine a bunch of video clips that play seamlessly, up to 256 clips according to the details.
It's been a fun way to combine my kids hockey video clips to play as one video.

It only really works well on an OLED screen though - because it only needs to light those specific pixels - rather than the whole screen... Only downside - notifications like gmail/google hangout/facebook - that disappear automatically if you check them on another device - won't disappear with this app. I like it though.

I can but there are some file transfer problems, it's been really annoying.
When I select everything, it only transfers a small portion of the files, like about 20% of the files.
I'm looking for some new apps to try out
what are your top used (unique, non stock) apps?
mine:
doubletwist (music player)
How does Doubletwist compare to the standard Google Music app? I use Google Music to play music, but on my tablet I did install Doubletwist just so my Xbox could stream music from it. Never actually used the Doubletwist app itself.
Does anyone use the aviate launcher? Seems pretty sick but only those with invite can use it Posted via RS Mobile
I used it. It has potential I think, but I didn't like it much right away. I feel like it's something that requires some customization before it's actually useful. PM me your email if you like, I believe I still have some invites left.
New Question: Anyone know of any good apps for getting texts/whatsapp etc to popup or show on your lock screen so that you don't need to unlock the phone everytime?
