Hmm those who say Wind is better than Mobilicity....
Where are you guys getting your info from?
They should be running off the same towers so I can't see how the reception would be different.

I'm on WIND, it's decent. I rarely find myself without reception. I love having Unlmited everything, with robbers I used to have to check every month's bills for weird charges.
The only complain I have is recently I've had ppl complain that a few of my texts have not been recieved, and likewise I have not recieved some texts from other people. Simple work around was to use whatsapp instead.
I would love to see more mainstream high end phones available on AWS network. Selection right now isn't horrible though.

I've been on the $40 unlimited virtually everything plan for a few months...totally worth it.
I usually have reception, and the tethering came in handy a few times.
Although I do have the not receiving sms/calls problem, and some people don't receive my sms right away.

Been with Wind since Apr. My feedbacks more or less the same as everyone else - lost texts (both sent and receiving) and dropped BIS. I work downtown and live by Kensington Park in East Van and rarely have any connectivity issues unless it's underground. Have a MyTouch 4g coming across the border this weekend. I'll see if any issues come up when I make the move over.

Used Mobilicity for about 2 years.
Started using Wind this year. While there's some dead zones, it's miles better when compared with Mobilicity.

I been on Wind for 9 months. No complaints. I dont use my phone too much for calls but when i do they have been fine and data speeds though slower than the big 3 i find it fast enough for browsing, msging and youtubing. Just make sure service is good in the area you spend most of your time.

No complaints from me. Like someone else had mentioned, just make sure it works well in areas you frequent most.
NOTE: There's even good reception in Blaine, WA now from WIND. If you're in that area to pick up packages, u don't need to worry about roaming.

I'm on Wind as well, no complaints really. I frequent Vancouver though as that's where I live, and Fleetwood - Surrey as that's where my parents live, no problems with reception or connection.
I primarily use my data more than my talk + text, so I thought going from Rogers LTE to 4G was going to be a huge adjustment, but funnily enough, not at all. I'm streaming YouTube and Netflix with no problems.
My one and only true regret, I shoulda left Rogers A LOT sooner. Would have saved me a boat loads of money.

9 months in now. reception can be spotty at times depending where you are but for metro vancouver you will be fine. internet speeds are fine for normal usages. roaming in the states is ridiculously cheap for voice/sms.

anyways..update!
got my phone UNLOCKED by Rogers...and then arranged to have it swapped at the Apple Store to accommodate WIND!
haven't tested swapped phone yet but their current batch of swapped phones should be newer than April 2013 (when the AWS band was secretely put into the iphone 5).

Quick note on ip5 wind compatibility.
If your ip5 is unlocked AND last 4 digits of serial # is FH1C
Then u r ready for a wind mobile sim.
iPhones with DTTP serial # end sequence will not work even if unlocked. Posted via RS Mobile |

Switching to Wind was one of the worst, most expensive mistakes I've made. Yes the plans are cheap, but the service is fucking garbage. I didn't have reception in many of the places I went; the gym, my studio in gastown, even certain random restaurants like Cactus Club English Bay...WTF? Movie theatres, underground parkades etc.
It's one thing that it didn't work...the other HUGE issue for me is when I went into a dead zone, then came back out, it took up to FIFTEEN MINUTES to get reception again. So I would be driving home, then all of a sudden my phone would blow up with texts, emails, and voicemails from people who tried to call me during that time. Fucking bullshit.
Didn't work out in West Van, or Fort Langley and some other not very remote places I had to go to for work.
Couldn't receive MMS from people, friends later wondering why I was being a dick and not responding to their messages.
I also made the mistake of getting a GS3 on Wind, which was so bogged down with Samsung bloatware. Shitty phone.
Sold the GS3 on craigslist, which covered the cost of a Nexus 4, and switched to Virgin. I pay more but my phone works everywhere, and don't have a contract.
The only upside with Wind were the cheap roaming rates in the US. The unlimited data was nice I guess, but even with heavy music streaming I still rarely went over 2 GB. Tethering is a whole other thing.
My response to their ad campaign:
"Stop paying $80 for a $30 plan.
Pay $30 for an $8 plan."
Your plan isn't "Unlimited" when your service is extremely "Limited".

since i started this thread 2 years ago...
so I am in Van/BBy/Coquitlam mostly
wind has been good. for the price. excellent. I have used a Galaxy Note 1, Note 2, S4 on this network. I rarely lose signal except inside some large buildings.
speeds range from 3-10Mbps. the average being 3Mbps for me at work.
get a decent phone if you want to use Wind. Huwei phones, forget it.
if i miss calls, i get a text about it. I frequently do over 5 GB and get throttled. I recently just paid the extra $10 for 5 more full speed Gb's
sound quality have been fair. not really complaining as i don't take 20 minutes to cinvey my messages. teenagers with new girlfriends may have a different opinion on this.
Roaming is cheap enough so really i get coverage everywhere, but never use it.
Bittorent works fine, not blocked.
i can steam youtube all along Hwy 1 to coquitlam without stuttering. Not sure about HD tho.
got my Galaxy S4 for $500 on the tab. paid off after 2 years.
just switched from the $29 BTS plan to the $30 regular plan. basically $1/month more for picture MMs and B.C. long distance.
Very happy overall, and a huge bump up from Mobilicty (see my abandoned Mobilicity Deals thread)
EDIT in regards to SpartanAir's experience with the S3: all carriers have the same issue. rooting and de bloating are key with any smart phone, well, except the Nexus line.

I'm living in Victoria for school, and my contract with Telus runs out before the year is over, so I was debating on switching to Wind's 40$ plan, as I'm paying 63$ + taxes for less features with Telus.
Just curious if anyone has any experience with service/speeds on the island through Wind. I'll be back in Kamloops during the summer, and according to Wind's webesite, both areas are under the "Wind Away (Flat Rate Roaming)" coverage.
