Hey guys.. I had my car tuned at RG yesterday and wanted to find out from others what it compares to say a dynapack or dynojet. I had the car tuned a few months back on a dynapack at Blitzkreig and made 223whp on 14PSI. Yesterday I made 233whp on 15PSI with a new pulley on my supercharger and a new intake manifold. What would that compare to on other local dynos? I know the RG dyno is called the heartbreak dyno.. lol

I found a few threads, but most people's opinions vary from 15% all the way to %38 low on a C63AMG and BMW M5.

I'd be interested as well. Dyno'd 230whp/270lbft torque on my MS3 back in the day and the numbers seemed quite low.

My car only got ~175whp while others with similar mods were getting 200+ on different dynos.

Yeah I know. I'm not all about numbers, since I KNOW my car is way faster now with the but dyno but it would be nice to compare what my changes actually did for the car VS. how it was before.

I'm considering doing a few pulls on other various dynos for fun to compare.

If you did not stay with one dyno for the before and after, there's pretty much nothing you can do now. Unless you feel like uninstalling your parts lol. There is no magic formula that will convert numbers from dyno to dyno.

If you want to compare yourself to cars in your own community, make sure its the same dyno as everyone else uses. Typically it'll be a dynojet.

All the cars in the turbo Miata group stay away from Dynojets like the plauge since they are not a proper eddy loading dyno (at leas the older ones, they DO have a loading dyno now but almost no one has it). Most all of them either tune on a dynapack or dyno dynamics.

I don't care about other people, just want to know ballpark how low this mustang is. Why would I uninstall my parts? I can just go do a few pulls for cheap on the dyno I was on before.

Totally missed that, yea just hit the Blitzkreig dyno and you'll get a good idea of the gains. I just meant there really is no precise formula its more or less just guesstimates.

For me anyways, its just nice to see where I am at compared to others with similar mods which is why I mentioned the previous point. I do agree that dynojet is probably not ideal for tuning purposes, but great for numbers haha.

Yeah SpeedPro in Surrey has a good deal. $40 for two pulls. I may go do that (dynojet) and then hit up Blitzkrieg when I have a chance.

I got my car tuned at Racing Greed. According to Tommy, their dyno reads about 16% lower than most common Dynojets.

Each dyno has its own way of measuring power. I won't go into details (simply because I don't know the full details) but Mustang dynos give the most true-to-road numbers. If you are indeed tuning, always go back to the same dyno for consistency.

Blitzkrieg and SpeedPro use different dynos and thus will yield different results.

I dynoed 273hp/311ftlbs @19psi at Speedpro's Dynojet. When I loaded up my datalog from that run using Virtual Dyno I get about 26xhp/29xflbs. No it's not going to give you accurate numbers, but can be used as a tool to determine if your tuning/parts made any noticable changes. And it's free too.

Yeah that's what he told me as well. So they said it reads %25 off crank and %16 lower than a dynojet so that's 39% off crank. So that equates 328 crank HP. Not bad for a little 1.6L.

my 4.6 made 248hp / 261tq on their last dyno day

roughly 330hp / 349tq at the crank

power ratings are just #'s and useful tuning numbers only if you use the same dyno to measure every time as each dyno is different

I trapped 103MPH at 13.9 with a 2.8 60' last time with the 223whp dyna pack set up.

hey, guys I thought I'd chime in and share some #'s of cars we tested back to back on other dyno's compared to ours. We've only tested against dynojets since they are known as the standard for whp #'s.

SRT4:
Our Mustang dyno: 292whp
Forcefed Dynojet: 325whp

Turbo NSX:
Our Mustang dyno: 365whp
Resnick Dynojet: 421whp

Single Turbo Supra:
Our Mustang Dyno: 430whp
Forcefed Dynojet: 498whp

SR20 powered 240sx:
Our Mustang Dyno: 354whp
Speedpro's Dynojet: 417whp

Twin Turbo 350z:
Our Mustang Dyno: 455whp
Resnick's Dynojet: 517whp

Twin Turbo Supra:
Our Mustang Dyno: 817whp
Forcefed Dynojet: 955whp

So the range between our dyno and dynojet is 11%-17% depending on the power level of the car. the higher powered cars are around 17% and the lower powered cars are around 11%.

So Falcon my guess for your car on a dynojet would be 233 X 1.11= 258whp.

That's interesting my car dyno'd similar to your new #'s.

my SR20 powered 240sx did 230whp on our Mustang Dyno and weighs 2915lbs with me in it. I trapped 107.9mph and did 13.1 at mission. your car is probably 500lbs lighter then mine so you should be able to do 112mph now.

I needed tires. I was trying to run on bald RT615's. 60' was no good either. I don't drag very much and kind of suck at it.

numbers are for ego's. its all about the tune. i dynoed 266 on rg and at the track every one asks how much power i make but i usually just say enough.

400whp on RG's dyno seems to equal around 470whp fairly consistently on dynojets. This was the case for my car and several other people I know making similar power.

This seems pretty much in line with the comparisons Shawn posted above. :)
