Today I installed the BlackVue with velcro and the power plug from the KCI works fine with the BlackVue. I use industrial strength velcro from Home Depot and it's very strong.
I found a seller for $185 each + 100 USD for shipping of up to 20..
Like TOPEC mentioned, there are enough people over on NASIOC for this... I was talking to F30 about getting a group buy going, and have about 17 people on NASIOC interested in the BlackVue (a few will even buy a couple), but last I heard from him it didn't look good. If you can get the BlackVue for $190 apiece ($185 + $5 shipping), I'm sure we could get an order going in the next week or so.
would you mind showing how you mounted it, and a possible sample clip of it in action. Im thinking of getting this also
It's not meant to be hidden, I mounted it with the suction cup mount it comes with right underneath the rearview mirror. I'm away from home until the 15th so I can't help you there. There's a setting for the go pro 2 too, I usually just use 5mp so it doesn't use as much memory while rolling.
Would u guys who use blackvues out there know how to check which side the impact was coming from & what is the impact reading(like how many G) from the video?

The software that's part of the camera shows G reading for Left/right, front/back, up/down for the video recorded.

Yea sorry I didn't say that clearly that I was using the software. Is there a way to find the exact reading from the software & is it possible to include that reading in my video that I upload to youtube or whatever?
i wouldn't want to have to worry about bringing my gopro everywhere. if your going to run a dash cam do it right and hard wire it in so it doesn't become a massive hassle. but obviously the gopro will have way better quality then all the other cheap ebay kits and it will also be the one most likely stollen if you leave in in the car.
unless your female or carry a murse i can't see where you would put it if you were to say, go to the mall. if you don't use it every time on every drive its useless b/c if may not be there when you need it most and i wouldn't want to have to carry it around everywhere. plus you have to charge it every night.
like i said i would just do it right. hard wire in a quality kit and then never worry again.
if anyone cares. right now at futureshop you can get a gopro hero2 outdoor edition + lcd back + battery back for 369.99. thats the cheapest i've seen from a local vendor by far. i picked a set up today. now i have to many. anyone want a hero 1?
