but if you guys think about it, the same thing would have happened if another car turned left at the intersection into that lane. the front car would still have caused an accident since he didn't spot check.

No offence, but a friendly remind:
NEW Effective January 1, 2010
A driver must not operate a motor vehicle with a television screen unless it is securely fixed to the vehicle so it does not obstruct the driver’s view and the image displayed is not visible to the driver, or it displays information related to the safe operation of the vehicle.
My friend got pull over by the cop because he touch the screen dash camera when he was driving. $109 ticket. Make sure install the proper place, and do not obstruct your driving view. But dash cameras with screens are all very big not like finevu or blackvue

Did your friend say which part of the MVA he got the ticket for? It could be disputable!

Thanks for the heads up.
so I assume it's the same with GPS unit?
Thanks! Abee V30 can be operated with the screen off though.

Just spotted the blackvue selling at a new auto store "ace auto" at crystal mall. Don't know how much, but these things have really come down in price on eBay! No groupbuy and it's $180 USD now. On a side note, I bought the imitation version for my dad called the "blackview" and it's pretty decent at less than 1/3 the price. It's funny that the cheaper version comes with a LCD display screen.
yeah, me too, but it's like you're getting more for your money! Well, minus the picture quality... imitation one is "decent" but can't compare it to blackvue

I might bite the bullet and go with the Blackvue now that the prices have dropped. I was hoping something similar would come out, but it looks like nothing beats the night time recording quality of the Blackview **tight, blue, shiny dress** If I had a Blackview back then, you know I'd upload it on RS.
I still hear of people having problems with the Blackvue. I guess it's hit and miss like everything else out there. I guess I'll request older firmware and see how it goes.

I've been having no issues on the latest firmware. Also been using a class 10 card.

Aside from the mic getting destroyed by the cabin noise, the video quality is superb. I highly recommend it!
