well, the only real solution is to back into your parking spot lol. sides, back and interior of course won't be recorded.
i dont think that would work
depend of the wide angle of the camera
if a car parking next to your car scrape your fender
you might be able to record a corner or head light of that car
but you probably wont be able to record the license plate
also i dont think there are any camera that can record 8 hours straight
most likely to drain the car battery ?

iphone question?

i want to buy broken iphones 4 or 4S or ipad !!!
or water damage iphone 4s as long as the price is right
i got this a while ago back in taiwan and its been quite useful, everyone in taiwan when i went back this summer had atleast one, the cabs there have 6 for all possible sides. pretty insane haha
and its a really simple plug and play thing. it comes with 8 gig memory/4 in 1 plug and the camcorder it self
sorry for bad quality pics, just took it from a BB
their all HD , so its really clear even at night id say for a easy plug and play like this
and their only like 100 and 120 with shipping even tho they dont look as nice as the black box.
and it doesnt have to be opened to record, you could close the screen to save more space.
as long as you turn your ignition on it will start recording.
it will restart every 5minute mark. so you get little sections of recording. OR you could change setting to whenever long you like.
my dad also wants one for his truck and so does couple of my uncles. got a big family
so maybe we could group buy to split shipping or something..because their getting it by the end of the month so we can add on more for split cost. just a thought

it's basically better than nothing. if there's even a chance to catch someone who hits and runs your car, would you not want to try it out?
the camera has it's own battery and doesn't run solely on the car's battery. whether or not it lasts 8hrs+, i have no idea.
There are ones where it'll record even if your car is off but only for 1.5 hr or so before it dies. It'll saved the recorded file before it dies.
Which ones are those? I've been reading around and some products have very poor descriptions. I'm more into having the camera record while the vehicle is parked and I'm away.
if anyone interested on the GS300 PM me
i can show you!

guys dealxtreame has a few of these. i have tried 2, hd any cam around $100 will not be true hd. this $60
quality is ok, has lcd screen(doesnt turn off when closed) auto starts recording, auto stop, time stap, time interval at 5,10,15 min. more importantly loop recording.
I just found out the Swann Freestyle HD (similar to a GoPro) has a loop recording feature in HD and wide angle. Pretty good for anyone who wants to do this and shoot some action sports/driving vids
