#of IR LEDs is just a gimmick. Your wind screen will absorb most of it, and it won't project far enough to illuminate things down range. You still need good driving lights to record at night.
You can remove the IR filter on the front of the camera if you drive mostly at night. For camera of the same size and price I think Hero2 is has the best night performance out there.

to the guys sporting dash cams - are you guys not scared that someone might break into your car and jack the cam? or do you religiously hide it when parked?

kaka I noticed that everyone ignored your question on the other page too! But I'm pretty sure that everyone else just leaves theirs mounted when parked as the more expensive ones are small and well hidden. When I get the one from Diicii, I will be custom attaching it to my passport 8500 X50 radar detector and will be taking it off everytime I park as I normally do now Posted via RS Mobile
