Best Phone Available?

My gf wants a new phone and I've been so out of the phone game for a few years now so don't really know shiet all. I know lots of you guys/girls are quite knowledgeable so help a brother out please.

Here are her simple list of wants/needs

- touch screen
- good for emails
- good battery life
- good reception
- not toooo big and heavy

Currently she is using the Torch but anybody who has used one knows it sucks. Yes, I know Iphone is an obvious choice but she would prefer anything but. I guess this leaves the choices open to Android phones?

Thanks in advance.

Galaxy s2 is best but its a monster in her hand.

Thats what she said.

Unfortunately most dual core androids are giant. however the phone wwighs nothing literally. Feela like the cheapest piece of crap but its really well made. 8MP camera, 1080p video recording, gorgeous big screen.

Battery life, not as good as iphone 4.

IPhone is best choice, if u can wait till Sept.

But why not iPhone?

!Yaminashi 07-28-2011 09:02 PM

Yeah, galaxy s 2 is the best phone that meets all of her criteria.
She could give the nexus s a shot, but battery life probably wont be up to par

jeff19 07-28-2011 09:21 PM

i doubt she'll like how big it is. i think nexus s is your best bet. or iphone? chicks love iphones

winson604 07-30-2011 12:35 PM

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't know, I guess we just boycott the Iphone for some reason. Yea stupid, I mean if it's a good phone and meets her needs then that's the truth. I'll go check out the Galaxy and Nexus with her. Thank you

I think if Nokias had the app community that android and iphones have they would tear the market... I miss my nokia... dare to dream.

Yeah nokias have always had superior call quality, and their E series phones were rock solid
Its too bad symbian has fallen off the map

When people contest the Samsung Galaxy S II battery; it's a hit or miss thing. It may be the Bell version or the North American version but my Galaxy S II has be running it's battery life perfectly fine. I get AT LEAST a full day out of it. On a good charge, I'll get most 1.5 days out of it.

Besides, you really only NEED your phone to last you the entire day...You certainly don't want it to die on you during the day but as long as it lasts you up till you go to bed, then it's perfectly fine.

^Agreed, i'm on 1day and 10 hours so far. Still got over 25% left

Eclypz 08-01-2011 04:10 PM

^ Keep in mind that 1 day = 24 hours
Most of us don't have days longer than 16 hours before we plug it in at night.

iPhone. Why boycott the most widely used and best supported phone on the market for no reason?

I haven't used an Android phone personally but I do think the Galaxy 2 is a great looking phone.

Get one of those 3D phones

What are the settings on the phone?

2 reasons

Itunes

Fragile glass screen that costs an arm and a leg to replace.

This is true, but its nice to know that IF you're ever stuck on a weekend getaway without a charger or something, you'll still have some juice left

1. What's wrong with iTunes? For the "average" user, syncing with iTunes is probably easier than with whatever you use with Android or RIM. I could be wrong but as far as I know...you connect your phone to the computer and it syncs automatically.

2. The only time I made a dent in my iPhone is when I dropped it.

...from about 4-5 feet up.

...onto concrete.

...on the corner.

And if you do, you just walk into the Apple store, tell them you have an antenna problem and they give you a new one. It's not fragile. The people that broke it are just retarded. I have an invisible shield and a standard, free Apple black bumper on mine now. I didn't have the bumper on before but otherwise, mine isn't even scratched.

Ronin 08-01-2011 11:07 PM

The only real valid reasons I can see for not getting an iPhone is the battery is not user replaceable (well, not easily) and it doesn't do Flash but even then...

And if you crack a glass screen on an Android phone, I got news for you...that isn't going to be cheap either, I'd imagine.

StylinRed 08-01-2011 11:10 PM

gorilla glass on nokias :D dropped mine a million times (butterfingers not used to thinner phones) and its fine

friend dropped his iphone off a table @ starbucks and the glass has like a million spiderwebs

Ronin 08-02-2011 12:13 AM

Your friend has a real phone and not one that runs Symbian.
