300mil for $10 or so? This honestly means nothing because in game items have increased in prices exponentially since release. What's worse is that the high end items are no longer on the gold AH because of the 2 billion cap. So now people are placing their godly items on RMAH instead.
It's sad. Now the only way to get good gear is to:
Shop on RMAH
Pray that you get a godly drop so you can sell it on RMAH, and use the earnings on other godly items also on RMAH
In game gold really has no value. You can't get a nice dual socket Manticore anymore.
Started playing a bit again recently, but there's really nothing good going on atm or new to look forward to while pvp turned out to be a big disappointment. I'm a PL 80 DH with mediocre gear (never payed for gold or RMAH gear) and am probably gonna auction everything and wait for the expansion and maybe start a new character. Kinda sucks that after everything my gear will probably fetch only about 200mil + the 120 or so mil I have saved : p
So true ... can't believe the hype faded so fast ... I almost forgot I still had the Icon on my desktop. Haven't booted it up in months, probably never will lol ... I still have some decent equipment on my Monk too.
Unless the expansion pack is really, really cheap (as in, $10 - $15 cheap), I don't think I'd really want to consider it at all. Even if it does fall into the $10 - $15 range, I'd really have to see whether I have anything better to do by then to decide whether I'd try it again.
When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we've mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III.
We feel that this move along with the Loot 2.0 system being developed concurrently with Reaper of Souls™ will result in a much more rewarding game experience for our players.
We're working out the details of how the auction house system will be shut down, but we wanted to share the news as soon as we made the decision in order to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. Please note that the shutdown will occur on March 18, 2014. We will keep everyone informed as we work through this process.
Josh Mosqueira and I wanted to provide everyone with a little more information behind this decision, so please have a look at the video, and stay tuned to this site for further updates in the months ahead.
not touching another blizz game after what they did to D3 with the whole RMAH. if anything blizz should pay me to beta test this expansion. $40 that's an insult.
