I've done my own window tinting, custom audio installs including amp racks and custom sub boxes.
I've taken out the motor and rebuilt my own motor in my old NX2000.
Replaced the clutch on the NX2000 a couple of times.

On my old Sentra, I had to take one of the seats apart to weld a broken attatchment point. Deck install and rewiring of the factory amp.

On my S2000, I've swapped out the stock shocks and springs and installed race Koni's and stock springs. Fluid flush/swap in the tranny, rear diff, brakes, and engine.
Replaced brake pads and rotors as well as broken wheel studs. Custom exhaust install.

I am in the midst of parting out a wrecked car.

if there's such a thing as part time automotive technician training, i'm definitely interested. can't do full time schooling on top of full time work

otherwise it's all DIY guides and learning/help from friends.

Same, I wish there was evening auto shop classes. Also welding/body work classes.

Usual bolt on stuff that doesn't require a lift (ie. suspension, BBK installs, intake, deck installs, etc). Definitely no motor rebuilds here.

kms tools offers mig and tig classes, but welding is pretty simple, I'd just buy a couple pieces of scrap metal and practice.

I've only done minor works (replacing small parts or swapped in bolt-ons) based on DIY guides on car forums. I always leave major works to my mechanic as I haven't got the tools, the knowledge or the balls to do it

Rebuilt a few of GM 4 spds (T10, Muncie M21, SM465's). Pretty straight forward.

I have no training other than the internets and my dad who is a plumber by trade. I have stripped my car to the bare chassis, pulling motor and tranny, pulled the top end and bottom end off the motor, and put it all back and drove it. I've pulled the cabin wiring harness and rewired/resoldered everything (just in the middle of doing the engine harness now..) I've also removed the gearbox and opened it to repair a pin the broke inside.(I didn't have to pull out any gears or anything thankfully..) But I would like a spare gearbox to pull apart and play with.

The only thing I have NOT ever done is mount tires on rims, mainly because I don't have the machine to do it at home, and I'm not going to use the one at my dealership when I'm there wearing a white shirt and tie. lol.

I've mounted tires onto rims, installed a cat back exhaust system, did a led swap in my dash, installed coil sleeves, painted and installed bumper lights, and installed a couple of intakes. Pretty simple stuff.

Couldn't have done any of this without the help of my friends, school, and of course the internet.

Done brakes, sparkplugs, filters, etc.

Don't actually do my oil changes, too lazy to do it and dispose. My mechanic does it for $10 if I bring my own oil, so whatever

A monkey could run a bead with a MIG.

And TIG is easy if you're not retarded. I don't get how people keep burning through aluminum.

There's a huge difference between knowing how to weld, and knowing how to weld properly. I know a guy who took a Classes at KMS. Can't even run a bead with Jet Rod. $90 for a 4 hour class, which might end up being 2 Hours of "welding time" which means maybe 40 minutes. People who have worked in the industry with over 1000 actual welding hours can't even do thier job properly. A 4 hour class won't teach you shit. Save your $90.

Feels good to work on the car...makes me love it so much more

I'd say its either:

1. There are many not voting
2. There are many voting Yes who just do minor things. Which is fine, I respect anyone that at least tries, you gotta start somewhere.
