The next super smart phone (After the Galaxy S2)

Ok, so I'm in the position to pick up a new phone and really interested in the S2 but I'm just waiting to sell my current phone....or till something else comes out.

I was searching around Google for an hour or so trying to find what's next on the Super-Phone lineup and I can't really find anything.

Oh, I don't want the Iphone 5...So my question is, I hope my question is clear enough. What's the next Super-Mega fast quad core phone gunna be?

StylinRed 08-03-2011 04:28 AM

multicores are pointless ;) dual cores eh ok i guess i can see that...

you won't really hear about new devices yet since the new devices just got launched or are slated for the next couple months (iphone5? nokia n9)

it sounds like you want to know about the next gen and we probably wont hear about those until later this year / early next

HTC Evo 3D coming soon to rogers

Look up "Nexus Prime", shouldn't be long now.

i personally like the motorola atrix ... dont see y u would need 4 cores on a phone lol :p

but yea the htc evo 3d is sexyyyyyyyyyyy

!MiKrofT 08-03-2011 08:44 PM

There's not gonna be anything drastic for awhile. Mainly incremental differences like 3D or higher CPU speeds. Quadcore phones won't be till next year.

Nexus Prime will probably be some Dual core TI OMAP chip.

Seriously, who needs a quad core phone... dual core is already plenty

you wont be saying that a couple months down the road. even with dual core, i still feel it could be better.

StylinRed 08-04-2011 03:31 PM

even dual core is pointless atm on say the iphone

and as i understand android doesn't even use dual cores properly or are incapable until an update? and the 3rd party apps wont work until developers update it to do so?

quad core... android batteries will only last an hour now i guess :D

twitchyzero 08-04-2011 05:41 PM

if you want anything faster than a SG2..they probably wont be announced until CES next janurary you are probably waiting until early next summer

_Hotsauce_ 08-06-2011 08:20 AM

Pickd up a SINGLE core phone, duel core seems pointless to me. This phone is fast as fuck...why would you want anything else? Nexu S ftw

rJZx 08-06-2011 09:01 AM

^your phone might be FAST... but theres FASTER phones... why wouldnt you want faster :troll:

Its like owning a 335i and saying m3's are pointless cause the 335i is fast enough.

Trust me the sgs2 is noticeably faster. The 1gb ram also helps a lot.

im passing on the sg2 and waiting for the nexus prime

_Hotsauce_ 08-06-2011 01:07 PM

I couldn't see the benefit of spending an additional $300 or a SG2....this phone opens everything in under 3 seconds, thats fast enough for me.

Culverin 08-06-2011 01:23 PM

I bet you're still using a Core2 Duo with win XP.
3 generations and a decade behind. That's also good enough for some people too.

_Hotsauce_ 08-06-2011 03:02 PM

^
Core I5, 4 gigs ram, 1 gig video...but whatever.

If it does what you need, who really gives a fuck. I can check my email, facebook, take pictures and decent video, skype with video. Does a hell of a lot more then my Iphone 3g....fuck upgrading every 6 months

I even had to convince my self to upgrade from the Iphone 3G bcause even that did everything you need. All this newer shit is just faster and not needed.

Psykopathik 08-08-2011 10:15 AM

your 3g is a POS. when it was new it was awesome tho. its a 3 yr old phone. use a iP4 and you will see the difference.

Oh man.. I agree. My first and only IOS device was the 3G. That didn't last long until I switched to Android.

gdoh 08-08-2011 10:26 AM

im still using a 3g :alone:

j/k

if it suits your need, no reason to upgrade.

!Yaminashi 08-08-2011 10:54 AM

I think some of you guys are failing to understand that not everyone always has to have the latest and greatest.

Some people dont have that much disposable income, some would rather spend their money on other things.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having the latest technology, but alot of people are satisfied with their phones as long as it can do what THEY need it to do. Not what it's capable of doing or how future proof it is
