Love the book, the movie with subtitles is good as well.

^^ yeah i doubt they'll be as extreme in the english/hollywood version
what's interesting about the book/movie to me is that the title is supposed to be along the lines of "men who hate women"
and the author is dead and his partner of over 30 years gets nothing from the book sales/movie etc because in Sweden there is no common-law partner laws
so his "wife" is fighting for ownership rights in the courts she wants control not just money (she was offered money already as a settlement) because she says she has a hand in writing the stories also and that she knows best how her husband wanted the books handled instead of the trust (which includes the authors father and brother)
Really enjoyed the first movie, and I think this one will be good for different reasons (mostly the Trent Reznor produced soundtrack which is sure to be amazing)

dunno about that his books were published after he died
he was a journalist and her an architect
also sounds like she wants the money to go to the communist party as per her husbands unwitnessed will (they didnt marry because in Sweden u're required to make your address public in marriage and he was a targeted man)
Saw this last night on a whim...and I'm very glad I did. No movie I've seen that I can remember kept my attention like this one. Not perfect, and kind of predictable, but it was worth the price of admission and then some.
^ same here. and to think i was gonna see m.i.4 instead
the 2.5 hrs were def worth sitting thru, everything leading up to the climax tied together nicely
Spoiler!
but i think it would have been better if it connected the nazi, jew, bible theme with the psychopath father and son
i never read the books but i know the other two are just as good. i hope theyre gonna make the other 2 books into movies and complete the trilogy thatd be too awesome.
has anyone seen the european version? and whatd you think of it?
I've seen the European version /trilogy before seeing this English version.
It's essentially exactly the same and Martin is played by the same actor.
Bloomkvist is played by the Physicist bad guy from M.I. 4 and Elisabeth Salander by the gypsy in Sherlock Holmes 2. Kind of funny how these two have their movies out at the same time as the English version of Girl with a Dragon Tattoo.
I believe this is one of the movies where if you see one version, you will like that version better even though the other one is almost identical. I found that the European version gave more depth into the plot. I did notice that Plague, the hacker, was more prominent in the European version.
Overall, both are good movies and both actresses were very good as Salander.
